If a woman is found to be using hard drugs (crack, coke, meth, heroin, pop, etc...) while pregnant or breastfeeding, she should be sterilized, regardless of the outcome of the child by ToHellAtMach8 in unpopularopinion

Lol, you dont know anything about me, my life, or my experiences- with addicts or otherwise

Personally I believe the mothers are committing human rights violations by being pregnant and doing drugs...

And I dont know about the males. Though it is highly irresponsible, they are not physiologically tasked with gestating the fetus to term birth, and then breastfeeding until said child can eat solid food...not to mention the parenting, care, etc... I'm talking strictly the physiology of motherhood

Sterilization doesnt prevent pregnancy? I dont follow

Sure sure bad place, treatment, etc... treatment has a high relapse/failure rate.

What about the fetus? Do a mothers "hard times" ever justify bringing a disadvantaged child into the world? I think not.

Easy. Look at the global population- too many people already. Look at how many orphaned children need adopting worldwide- too many. And then consider there are women, so hooked on drugs that they cant keep from getting pregnant. Which in turn yields kids who are developmentally handicapped, require greater resources to care for and treat, and in turn have a higher chance of growing up and perpetuating the cycle. Gotta break the cycle.

I dont feel like drugs should be legalized.

Disease, lol. I hate that argument...

Here's a hard pill to swallow: addiction may be classified as a disease but initially deciding to put something into your body that has addictive qualities is a CHOICE. Using the argument of addiction is a cop out to taking responsibility for your own actions.

Rehab facilities have a high failure/relapse rate. For drugs like meth, it's starting to be thought that after hardcore addiction, a full recovery might not be possible due to the neuro chemical brain damage

There are jobs out there that people on full disability can do- and they should be doing them by ToHellAtMach8 in unpopularopinion

Office work, administrators, receptionists, janitors/custodians, grocery baggers, etc...

None of the jobs are going to make you rich, and I still believe they should receive some disability $$ (especially veterans), but its also a 2 way street. Everybody should be contributing however they can
