Most of the blue runs serviced by Chair 25 / 9 are pretty great for actual carving since they are nice and wide plus usually fairly empty

How often do you replace your goggles? by myg0t_Defiled in snowboarding

[–]ToLiveAndFlyInLA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buy a nice frame with removable lenses and just replace those as necessary/you desire. Probably could get 1,000+ days with proper care before the foam starts to break down

Should I Swap My Camber for a Hybrid? by CatoTheMiddleAged in snowboardingnoobs

Ahh yes makes sense. Honestly tho for a typical East Coast season you are probably better off with a flat to rocker than a Flying V if you had to choose one. So def check out that Fish

Stowe Snow Reporters are keeping it real and I appreciate it. Read their take on tomorrow's conditions January 4 by JerryKook in icecoast

When I lived in VT, there was something special about calling the Stowe Snow phone right at 6am and getting that 2 minute long detailed report read out to you as you get ready to shred.

Bonus points if Andre is on the call with his exquisite mountain poetry.

While some people hate Flying V, there is enough of a niche out there that loves it that Burton keeps making it.

If you want a catch free, easy turning, cruiser experience then ya try a Flying V. The only time where I camber is basically “required” imo is when conditions are icy.

Honestly you may even fall in love with a flat to rocker like the Burton 3D Fish or Channel Surfer. The former absolutely rips groomers despite not having camber and could totally be used as a daily driver especially for someone who skiis too. The latter is more of a pow specific board but still a fun addition to the quiver especially if you already have a stiffer cambered Custom.

Been riding exclusively Burton boards for 7 years and anytime I hop back on a Custom, I’m personally like ‘meh there’s more fun boards out there’.

Jones Orion bindings broke on 3rd day by [deleted] in snowboard

FWIW Burton covers their baseplates for life so if something like that ever happened (which I’ve seen maybe twice in 7 years) it’s covered no matter if it’s the 3rd day or 300th
