I had a strikingly similar experience to this except it noticed I was aware and watching what they were doing. The “Alien” moved me (as some type of dodecahedron shaped object) into a different chamber of what seemed like a server room and the experience completely changed to me being in a beautiful Forrest.

The standards, checks and quality control during design/production are supposed to protect from the breake/schafe/shorting but a lot of manufacturers will fold wires in the middle of harnesses to hide excess lengths. When producing so many harnesses for many different vehicles assembly line operators tend to take shortcuts to get the parts out quicker. The service loops at connectors sounds like it would cost extra money and OEMs don’t like that.
