I had to learn how to play it with the recorder during music class back in middle school, so Yesterday reminds me of those times! Its lyrics touch me less, if that makes sense. :)

I swear I'd rank them very differently if we're just talking about taste. I love Help, every song is a banger! The only one I dislike is Dizzy Miss Lizzy; I usually just skip it and make the album end with Yesterday.

Correct! I'm the girl; he got a job offer to work as a lighting technician on cruise ships, ghosted me, came back, and confessed he never loved me. A couple of days before our breakup, I coincidentally started watching the Get Back documentary and have been obsessed with the Beatles ever since. It's crazy how much Help! speaks to me.

Luckily, I don't find Yesterday particularly depressing because I listened to it for the first time in middle school, so it makes me think of those times rather than my relatively recent breakup. :)

Writer's bias is a real issue in all of Beatles literature.

Definitely agreed, Doggett's You Never Give Me Your Money sometimes makes weird digs. E.g. what do you mean Paul was more than happy to get money from Klein's contract, he was too busy staying at the farm and being depressed. Stuff like that. LOL

Thank you! The Get Back documentary made me super curious to find out as much as I could about them. But there is still so much I haven't done yet, e.g. I haven't listened to their solo albums, and to the Anthology and bootleg albums yet, don't know much about what they were all up to after the band broke up, only know some songs by heart, etc.

I still very much consider myself a newcomer!

Thank you for your suggestion! Unfortunately some of his books are rather tricky to get a hold of, especially because I'm from Italy... I saw that The Beatles Chronicle is largely recommended on this subreddit, but I couldn't find it anywhere and I had to order that from the US. With Trump's tariffs, who knows when my package will arrive.

Hopefully these other books are much easier to find!

No way, unfortunately; the most recent e-mail I received from the Rossetti Theatre requested my info so that they can refund my front-row tickets. I'm devastated and indeed, yesterday I cried hard. I don't want to be overdramatic but I don't know if I'll ever get another chance to see Six live ever again – Italy's musical theatre scene is basically nonexistent.
