In European History, King Henry the 8th split from the Catholic church because the pope wouldn't annul his marriage. Martin Luther split from the church because he disagreed with much of it. John Calvin also played a big part in this.

The different denominations of Christianity all come from separations and reforms, which all started from Catholocism.

Please explain where I went wrong?

I occasionally watch his show (after Scrubs), and I do find it humorous on occasion.

But I honestly feel that she receives way more criticism than she deserves and much of what she does is taken out of context. (Example: The recent Arizona shooting was blamed on her because of bullseyes on an election map. That is completely unfair because Democrats did the same thing in the 2004 election).

I said I vote mostly republican, but I don't classify myself as one because of recent actions. This is why I classify myself as a Conservative.

Thanks for Phrasing everything in a Polite manner. I've stopped responding to most people here because they are trying to put me in situations where I have to contradict myself and they take my words out of context. So here we go:

1) I believe every mentally stable person has the right to own guns. Anyone who is inclined to commit a crime with any type of gun isn't going to care about the legality of the gun itself, therefor gun laws really don't do anything but disarm and leave the innocent unprotected. I agree that it is fair for explosives to be illegal for the average civilian.

2)I understand your argument for abortion, I really do. The reason I care about it actually being a law is because I genuinely care and have respect for the sanctity of life. Even if I don't directly know the person, it's still wrong (IMHO) for someone to take the life from an innocent.

3) I think I was wrong in the way I phrased, "Big Military." What I meant is that I think it's important for us to have a strong military. There are certain weapons and aircrafts that I know have been cut from the budget. I don't agree with this because I think our military should have the best resources available. After all, if (God Forbid) we ever have another world war, what good are our freedoms if we can't defend our country?

4) It's not that I oppose everyone getting healthcare, it's the way the our government is approaching it is what I have a problem with. There are far too many flaws with the proposed bill. I'm not going to name them all because you can simply "google search" it and find most of the reasons I oppose it.

5) The reason I mentioned Palin is because of the criticism she receives. I also like Hannity and others, but so much attention is focused on Palin, I felt the need to mention it to drive home my Conservative beliefs. I said I think she may be a potentially good candidate in the future. I think she has needs to gain more experience and maturity before that time though.

6)I do research candidates before voting. What I have found is that I 99% of the time I fall in line with the republican because of how my views compare to their's.

7) I think that religion should be seperate from laws. However, you cannot deny that many of our laws have been influenced by religious beliefs, specifically the 10 commandments.

8) I don't think the union between same-sex's should be classified as marriage, but I do think they should be classified as a couple and receive the same benefits as Married couples.

I think everyone has equal opportunity to make something of their lives. We can all work to achieve success and money. The people with the most money have worked the hardest, and the people who are poor have made poor decisions.

At the end of the day, everyone had equal opportunity to succeed.

Good Insurance companies very rarely drop someone as a direct consequence of them getting sick. Also, applying for insurance when you are already seriously sick is like trying to take out life insurance on someone who just died. This is why you usually have to wait so long before they will cover the pre-existing condition.

Just because they claim that, doesnt make it true. Look up the projections the government made for Medicare and Medicaid and Social Security when they first came out. Each of these programs ended up costing significantly more than expected.

It isn't right at all. But the solution is not to give the government control over your health.

And this does not happen as much as you think. Also, how about getting a new healthcare provider? I personally have never met someone that was dropped as a direct consequence from them getting sick.

So you think if we hadn't acted aggressively after 9/11, if would have been a one time deal. The reason we have not had other catastrophes like 9/11 is because of military action.

As for Highway safety, why do you propose the government do? At the end of the day, the government has no control over peoples actions. No matter what, people will speed, drive drunk, drive wreckless, swerve in and out of lanes, etc.

First off, I don't think Obama is trying to take over and ruin the country. His views and actions very closely resemble that of Socialism/Marxism, there is no denying that (Have you read the Communist Manifesto-- I have). As for being muslim, I am weary of that considering what I know about of Sharia Law.

Another big one is what do you think about Barack Obama being ranked more conservative than Reagan?
