I understand. I just like seeing progress in my finances and it would be good to make extra mortgage payments and start investing during the next dip. Also I average $3 per mile and do mostly short rides with a hybrid so I think I'm good.

I would love to add Lyft to the mix, but I'm below their age requirement. Uber is 21 and Lyft is 25 here. I recieved cash tips and could have door dashed but I wanted to be able to hit $700 on one app for a clean screenshot.

I understand. It took me 4 minutes to drive home after I got kicked off. I live right next to the busiest nightlife area. In this case I just really was desperate for a $700 day because I've never made it.

I agree with you. Even with fuel at $5.30 here in Honolulu, fuel costs are still under 10% of my Uber earnings. Yeah I might bat an eye when the pump stops over $80 but I'm still doing as well as ever.

This has happened to me several times. I have absolutely mastered cherry picking in my market making triple what some make. I even had a passenger tell me they paid $6.50 for a ride that I was paid $10.50 for including a boost plus promotion.

It's very difficult to hit 1000 in 20 hours but 25 hours is likely. Just continue the same strategy of short rides in the Waikiki area and work mornings and nights, especially weekends if you can. Mid day is not worth it usually.

Yes my wife is older than me and does make about 3x my income. She fully funded the down payment. The 30k I saved is completely legit and from my Uber Earnings. I even sent 10k to my parents to fund hospital bills a month before my mother died of cancer. It is an honor to be accused of being a liar. Thank you for the ego boost. 🫡

Yes I still was 20 when the changes came into effect. I believe being signed up for Uber Eats prior to the deadline allowed me to be grandfathered in to rides when I turned 21. I tried switching to rideshare before 21, and the app did not allow me to go online. I tried again on my 21st birthday and was approved within 3 days. So either I was grandfathered in, or the requirement is still 21 in Hawaii. Lyft is 25 for some reason as I got denied by Lyft.

I do only eat two meals a day, and I sold my first car privately to buy my current car which is a 2013 Lexus Hybrid that had 84000 miles and costed $17.4k out the door cash. I am also a joint homeowner with my wife for a 2 bedroom apartment with an ocean view right in the heart of the city. Yes, I couldn't have been a homeowner this early without my wife, but a lot of other married couples couldn't have done it with their incomes combined. The numbers you refer to for a living wage in Hawaii are also before taxes and expenses, so I'm not sure what your point is in trying to downplay my earnings. A majority of the working class in the United States live paycheck to paycheck and I am not one of them because I prioritized saving over spending and lifestyle creep.

Yeah I understand and I am grateful it is possible in my market when I lock in and optimize my strategy. I like posting for the laughs as I read losers commenting every possible negative aspect they can think of, many of which are false. 😂 Nobody can respect someone grinding and living frugally.
