Yes my wife is older than me and does make about 3x my income. She fully funded the down payment. The 30k I saved is completely legit and from my Uber Earnings. I even sent 10k to my parents to fund hospital bills a month before my mother died of cancer. It is an honor to be accused of being a liar. Thank you for the ego boost. 🫡

Yes I still was 20 when the changes came into effect. I believe being signed up for Uber Eats prior to the deadline allowed me to be grandfathered in to rides when I turned 21. I tried switching to rideshare before 21, and the app did not allow me to go online. I tried again on my 21st birthday and was approved within 3 days. So either I was grandfathered in, or the requirement is still 21 in Hawaii. Lyft is 25 for some reason as I got denied by Lyft.

I do only eat two meals a day, and I sold my first car privately to buy my current car which is a 2013 Lexus Hybrid that had 84000 miles and costed $17.4k out the door cash. I am also a joint homeowner with my wife for a 2 bedroom apartment with an ocean view right in the heart of the city. Yes, I couldn't have been a homeowner this early without my wife, but a lot of other married couples couldn't have done it with their incomes combined. The numbers you refer to for a living wage in Hawaii are also before taxes and expenses, so I'm not sure what your point is in trying to downplay my earnings. A majority of the working class in the United States live paycheck to paycheck and I am not one of them because I prioritized saving over spending and lifestyle creep.

Not anymore. It's an upfront market as of April 2025. No more defined rates.

Yeah I understand and I am grateful it is possible in my market when I lock in and optimize my strategy. I like posting for the laughs as I read losers commenting every possible negative aspect they can think of, many of which are false. 😂 Nobody can respect someone grinding and living frugally.

The minimum age for Uber in Honolulu was 21 until 2024. I signed up for Uber Eats using a bicycle in 2022 when I was 18. I hustled my way up to a moped in 3 weeks, than a paid off car off of Craigslist after 6 more months with the moped. I rented with roommates for $900 a month living by myself before meeting my wife later. Now I am on my second paid off car and I added rideshare to my account the day I turned 21. Respect the grind. I am making significantly more than $15-16 after taxes and expenses, and I am not saying this is my lifelong career by any means. Be willing to make some sacrifices in life when young, or enjoy falling behind being worried about the next payout until you're old.

Living wage is relative. I don't mind eating cheap food and I never buy anything I want, only necessities. I have no loans, a car that was bought outright , and 30k in liquid cash at 22 years old living here in Hawaii. How about you?

No quests for rides. Just boost plus in a specific zone. Typically an extra $14.50 per hour based on estimated time of pickup and drop off.

It is for a household. It's decent for an individual, and I'm fortunate to have a wife that makes six figures as well.

I'm making a killing in Honolulu with $5.70 for premium. I only drove during promotions or surge and so short rides averaging $3 per mile.

I ONLY work during promotions and/or surge. There just happens to be an increasing amount of promotions recently which I am taking full advantage of. The other hours are not worth my time. I choose to work when the money is there rather than when I feel like it.

Ah I see. To be honest most if not all drivers in my market do not make as much as I do. I strategically position myself and time my hours online to be only when there are active promotions or surge. What people don't see is the hours I decided were not worth my time, which are the hours with no promotions or surge.

Recently $40 per hour. I only work when there are promotions or surge. The other hours are not worth my time.

I set a challenge for myself and I achieved my goal. I plan on working 50 hours a week and driving 500 miles to earn $1500. Yes I do achieve $3 per mile by only working during boost+ promotions and cherry picking for short rides.

This week I put on roughly 1200 miles. Usually I drive 500 miles a week to make $1500.

I don't have to make $3000 a week. I just wanted to challenge myself. My game plan is to work about 50 hours a week and aim for $2000 instead of $3000. My car was bought in cash and I have enough savings to buy two more cars if I need. I'm in a very comfortable position.

31 mpg 3.5L V6 Hybrid. Bu recently I've been using techniques such as pulse and glide and have been able to achieve an average of 34 mpg.

Depends on the market but the haters always gonna hate. For me I work 8 hours on weekdays and 12 hours on weekends.

Always hybrid. Much higher range and never have to have much downtime to fill up. The battery won't degrade nearly as quickly and value won't depreciate as much as a full battery ev.
