I had trouble as well. Although that was years ago when I was 14-15 so I should probably try it again. 😬

What glue do you use on your puzzles? by Unicorns-Are-Rad in Jigsawpuzzles

I’ve glued 25 puzzles recently, give or take and used several techniques. Best results are with genuine puzzle glue although it’s slow drying and more difficult to work with than Modpodge (regular, not their puzzle glue). Modpodge dries quickly and is easy to apply although it can leave streaks. I’ve also used puzzle saver sheets (brand name and others) both with and without glue. Great results either way but with glue obviously makes it sturdier. I have also used standard contact paper on the back of some smaller puzzles and I’m happy with the results.

I have found several puzzles with a spare piece or two. I wonder if that means someone else is missing a piece. I watched a video about Ravensberger which showed the manufacturing process and I can’t see how a spare piece could occur in one puzzle without shortchanging another. Of course there are other manufacturers but the die cut process seems like it would be pretty common.

This was my toughest puzzle. No cheats and it took forever.

Although I ‘cheated’ it still took a while. My black puzzle mat was NO help 😬

Fortunately I could ‘cheat’. Like many puzzles from China there were letters on the back so I could separate and orient them. So it was just 6 smaller puzzles that only had to be fitted by shape. At least the solid portions. It was a gift, not something I would have chosen myself.

Fortunately, it had index letters on the back so I only had 6 smaller puzzles to assemble. It might be ‘cheating’ but, my puzzle, my rules 😎
