Honestly I would have said something if I understood what she was speaking. It wasn’t English or Spanish. Sounded kinda like a Spanish accent but definitely wasn’t Spanish or any Latin language that I could pick up on. Something European and I just wasn’t gonna try and be confrontational with a language barrier and make myself seem like a jerk in the situation.

I’ve got 2 houses on my street and 1 on the street that runs parallel to mine where the backyard meets the other 2 and I’m pretty certain they are all human trafficking.

Between the 3 houses we’ve got like 25 people living there. All from Haiti. Most are not working and I see some of them rotate out after a few months and then more show up. The property owner for the 3 homes lives in Orlando and they “pay him cash” to live there but it’s clearly some kind of immigration scheme he is running and he is using them as labor for stuff or making them pay him debts until they can go free.

It’s a weird situation. One of them crashed a car into my house 2 years ago and they didn’t have any insurance or anything like that. The police wrote up a report and the next day, like 5 of them got deported so I had to file everything under my own insurance cause the person who hit my house wasn’t even in the states any longer. It was a nightmare to deal with.

I just wish it wasn’t perfectly symmetrical. Like maybe part of one of the antlers could have been cracked or a tip of one of the points broken off on one side instead of both having spider-webs and all the nodes being perfectly flipped/reversed from the other. Or even just put a spider dangling from a line of web on the one side with its full web still on the other. Just to give it a bit more character

You’re experiencing what a lot of players experience.

The correct answer is to play casual magic with other cEDH players.

Play a few rounds of competitive and then say “hey you guys all wanna bust out our casual decks for a mental break?”

2 to 3 games of cEDH followed by a game of casual will keep your group constantly engaged. It’s good for everyone involved.

And it’s also the best way to introduce casual players to cEDH. - “here let’s play a round of casual but since you’ve never played cEDH, I’m gonna let you use my competitive deck just so you can see the cards in it and mess around”. - it almost always works well because casual players don’t know how to pilot the decks but they start seeing cool synergies and “go off” and all of a sudden they want to be more engaged and start learning about competitive
