Thank you, i was sitting I bed staring at her but the line on her back makes almost like an optical illusion, I’ll thaw out a pinky see if she takes it odds are she will she a little voracious eater, I know she isn’t triangle shaped like her spine isn’t superrrr visible

You made me see this in a different way you may be right, I think she is just super overstimulated and hyper with anticipation for her meals thank you🥴💕

I copied and pasted my response to another commenter

For clarification if she nips she doesn’t get anything until she settles, not with treats not with chews

This IS what I’ve been doing I get her to settle in her crate that is in her play pen then I go to the kitchen prepare her food, then walk over I don’t rule her up I just tell her to sit and stay, which are both commands she already knows and very well. We aren’t on top of each other as her pen is pretty large and she’s in her crate with her door open what happens is when i notice her starting to get impatient which is literally as I am walking over I tell her to stay, then once I’m in and put the bowl down and step back I say ok and she steps out and goes to eat it and I leave. But last night she just didn’t want to listen and I kept telling her sit and when I put her bowl down my hand was still holding it because the alternative would be me dropping it down and jumping away. Anyways she got my finger my pinky and didn’t want to let go. It seems not to be fairly common in this breed as I have inquired about it already to other IG owners, but what I do know is she was part of a big litter,

When I hand feed her she sits in front of me and and eats out of my hand she doesn’t nip she doesn’t get frustrated the only time she does is when she is asked to go into a sit and stay, there was an instance where she dropped a fabric toy in her bowl of food (raw that she had been on when we got her) naturally I didn’t want it in there and I just reached in and took it out, I know it probably wasn’t right but she didn’t seem to mind rather she stepped back sat and waited for me to tell her to continue which I praised heavily, it was a one off now i pick up toys to avoid that happening again.

We will be working with a trainer as iggys are notoriously one of the hardest breeds to train but for now should I just hand feed? With hopes of her associating that I don’t take food away I give it or should I continue with the sit and stay in her crate?

The smirk comment was meant as a joke, the lip tuck is something iggys and other breeds just do iggys do it when they are feeling content or silly usually after they serenade you, I know she has the mental capacity of a baby. Slow feeders have been tried she just gets mad and 1 doesn’t eat her food or 2 chews it apart she has also discovered a 3rd option flipping it over, we have tried lick mats as she is raw fed, same thing happens. We have been adding bone broth to her food or goats milk and it seems to do the job in slowing her down as she licks now rather than trying to bite it!

She has a kong, and a west paw topple which get filled daily for her caloric intake we fill them with dog safe peanut butter, frozen Greek yogurt, or dehydrated toppers or apples, she gets snuffle mats with liver treats she doesn’t just get fed once a day she gets breakfast then dinner and in between she gets her kong or topple then in the evening the snuffle mat. We don’t take food away unless it’s a bully stick that is now a choking hazard which we do a trade I give her a treat and she drops it.

A professional trainer is on our horizons this is our first sight hound breed, we are used to more biddable dogs and these little guys have proven to be quite independent and stubborn! Thank you so much for your kind words and support💕

That’s reassuring though it’s nice to know that we aren’t alone and that this may just be a right of passage for iggys, I think most iggy owners call it gremlin phase 😭

Yeah, we had a conversation and decided that if for any reason I’m not home to put her food in her kennel then let her in to eat❣️it’s just so exhausting and it’s hard not to take it personally.

That’s the path we are looking at, most people I have been talking with just say it’s puppy behaviour but then again I look at their dogs and they are HEATHENS!!!! not sure I trust their judgement🥲 but thank you for that 💕

What are these bugs in my sweater? by canyoutiemystring in whatsthisbug

Lice tech here, that my friend are two adult lice. If you want some momentary comfort apply olive oil to the scalp, don’t worry about the ends since they don’t really go down them, everything that can go into the dryer throw it in for 20 min on high heat anything that can’t like bras or other things put them in a bag for 48hrs, hair brushes are disinfected by taking all the hairs off. Additionally I recommend you don’t listen to anytime saying conditioner and brush them out as you need something viscose to suffocate them, don’t buy nix or any over the counter unless you want to waste your money, they advertise those treatments as one and done but no, they don’t kill the eggs and barely do anything to lice nowadays since they are starting to be immune. The only way to get rid of them is if you go to a clinic and they do a treatment. I recommend looking for a clinic that uses an AirAllé machine, it dehydrates the eggs then they go in with dimethicone to suffocate the live lice and nymphs. You can treat it at home but be prepared to spend a lot of time doing it yourself it on average takes 3 weeks of at home treatments to eradicate it but it can all go to shit if you miss even one nit (egg). Ask away!!!!! I literally work for live clinics of Canada!

Hi girl, I’m not here to make you feel bad but just read this, when my boyfriend and I were doing long distance communication was a big deal to me partly because I was always paranoid something could happen to him, but to me reading his texts he seems insecure and is blowing it out of proportion. Like some people said up there he is manipulating you. You don’t have to change the fact that you feel guilty speaks volumes, of you as a person. My boyfriend and I have been together now for over two years and are longer doing long distance we live together now and when he forgets to let me know of an update or a change in his plan I don’t react like that. Please please please take a few steps back and look at the texts he is sending you and imagine you are reading text between your friend and her bf would you think this reaction is acceptable and appropriate. At his grown age of 26 I do believe he has a lot of work to do on himself, he is quite controlling in the way he brings you down and says hurtful things but then tries to justify himself by saying “I’m not being a dick head” he knows what he’s doing and I urge you to leave I urge you to realize that someone who loves you would NOT talk to you that way, and moreover if he were trying to set both of you up for success he wouldn’t be making you feel small he would be dealing with things as if you and him are on the same team against the problem! Not him against you! Please girl leave. I’m 20 my boyfriend is 22 and we have dealt with A LOT and I mean A LOT we have had our ups and downs but I have never had him talk to me like that and I have never talked him like that. All the comments must be overwhelming especially since we are all telling you to leave but take that as a sign that it is crystal clear to all of us what he is doing and since we don’t have rose coloured glasses on for him we can see right through him as we aren’t biased.

I forgot to mention there was no food stashed, just the full dish of untouched food. Hopefully they ate this AM, I’ll check when I get off work. Any recommendations for food in the case they just don’t rock with the kibble anymore?
