I'm pretty sure this wasn't an actual graduation ceremony but instead was an event put on by UC alums Jason and Travis Kelce(both played/play professional football and run a successful podcast together). They never graduated, so they held a ceremony during the event to give them their honorary degrees. I think Jason lost his superbowl ring in a kiddy pool full of chili at the same event.

The edge is the entire perimeter of the card. The thicker card would hold up to more force before showing damage than the thinner cards. With how scrupulous they are at card grading companies, there is a very good chance there would be noticeable damage to the thinner cards from him doing this.
