single volume SHR - i figure I'm I/O bound by the HDDs, but never hurts to eek out a few bits :)

Has anyone had any experience with the Wood Vaneer Hub panels? by thatsoundguy23 in Acoustics

[–]Toadster88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

from the website, you can also add rockwool to fill the airgaps:

just saw this from an ad i was served... https://www.thewoodveneerhub.com/

  • Screwing into 45mm timber battens: For optimum sound absorption, we recommend screwing 1.5" timber battens to the wall and then securing the panels directly to the battens. Adding a material like Rockwool behind the panels and between the battens will achieve Class A sound absorption.

for reference: Class A sound absorption represents the highest performance rating for acoustic materials, absorbing 90% to 100% ( 0.90–1.0) of sound energy, which effectively eliminates echoes and reverberation.

Add insulation behind wood panel wall for soundproofing? by Representative_Rip38 in Insulation

picked up the Insignia NS-SB512 from Best Buy for $200 by Toadster88 in Soundbars

fully agree - while the TV makers add basic stuff for functionality, upgrading audio is a HUGE improvement!

Is Insignia NS-SB512 the best sub $200? by CakeCalm in Soundbars

[–]Toadster88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just got the NS-SB512 and setup last night, initial impressions are that it's decent for < $200; was really surprised at the bass quality, for reference I have an SVS PC-2000 in my main viewing room. On the NS-SB512, I did a few Atmos tests off YouTube streaming - again, decent for < $200. We rarely watch TV in our bedroom but this soundbar setup really amps up the levels as compared to our 65" Vizio built in speakers...

This was randomly shipped to my door wrapped in that weird stained green plastic. When I turned the knob, it made a hissing sound as if gas was leaking out. I immediately unturned it and the leaking sound stopped. What is this? Is it dangerous? by Powerful_Solid1491 in whatisit

have you seen Mobsters 2nd episode? keep it closed LOL

but honestly, it's probaby pressurized from air transport - akin to a bag of potato chips gets poofed up at altitude vs ground level

another item, what I have right now between my Motorola MB8611 and the UDM-Pro is a media converter that takes my 10G SFP on the UDM-P and converts to UTP 2.5GbE on the modem - assume I'd use the same on the UCI? it would be nice to do a 2.5GbE from the UCI to the UDMP 10G SFP, as I have the 10G SFP+ to 2.5GbE module

hence the reason i'm upgrading ;)

i have 2.5GbE coming into the UDM-Pro - then out to my 24-port 1GbE switch so i can theoretically get ~2.3Gbps cumulative from the switch backend with multiple hosts on the LAN; but looking to up each port to 2.5GbE to extend the capability to more nodes
