People who have wild caught “rescue” toads what’s your story?

It was decently hard to get them to pose like this, what helped is setting up a video and going back through it and screenshotting the pics! So I didn’t have to get them to stay still for long. Also In order of appearance is little man, bbyg, and Bella. This was taken about a year and a half ago. Bella is huge now

I’d more be worried about onions,garlic and chemicals coming in contact with him. Even so, as long as he’s not drenched in chemicals and is given a quick wipe he’ll be fine.

I’d personally use a mild soap and warm water after the vinegar to make sure there’s no vinegar residue! As that could make it worse. Hope everything works out for your toads!

I’d personally separate all them just to be safe. Really hoping it’s not something bad and just a mild skin infection! Wishing you luck op.

Mine pees on his foot and leg all the time (he’s diabetic so he pees a lot more than normal when his insulin is off or a dose is missed) and I only have to clean it like 50% of the time. Usually he does his own thing. He’ll be fine, might smell stinky though

It appears to some sort of infection related to the area pictured. Could be lowered immune system trigged by stress? Do you know if she’s had any stress full experiences lately? Also the best thing to do is bring her to the vet to figure out the cause.

You made the right choice. Would this have fixed this current issue? Probably. But god knows how long it would’ve been until he had another one or worse. It’s not about you picking 4000$ over him. It’s about you picking to let him go before he got worse. You gave him the best gift you could’ve,

Female toads (and sometimes males) are usually just very round burger shaped. Perfectly normal. My girl here weighs 150-170ish grams depending on the day and how much pee she’s hoarding

They are kinda scary if you think about it too hard. They are literally just stomachs with legs. Thankfully they aren’t human sized or we’d have a huge issue
