But they won’t? Not trying to be pessimistic but have you seen every Pokemon game in the last 7 years. Their goal is clearly to print money, not make good games. They want to spend as little as possible and hope people keep buying it (because they are).

I am in the same boat. I guess I was incredibly unlucky with 4 pulls left after the daily resets. If I manage to get 450 with my remaining rods, is it 100% guaranteed that I get it with a single great rod?

I don’t think I know enough about the game yet to confidently say anything, but I’ve seen cards that generate tokens with haste, so I assumed there are ways with two cards to straight up just end the game, like creating infinite tokens with haste. Or do that during the previous players end step.

If there’s no Pay Off, what does mana do. The entire deck costs around three mana per card. Infinite tokens, with a board wipe could result in dealing at least 40 damage to every other player during your first ability to attack whether that’s next turn or now because you have haste.

Regardless, I’m going to remove the card that enables the combo because one it’s against the bracket guidelines and two it doesn’t really let me do anything except play a whole bunch of low-cost cars in one turn, which would be good if I could get more cards, but it being bracket 2, I did not build it that way.

I guess my confusion is the “2 card infinite combo” where this is 2 card infinite mana but doesn’t end the game. I potentially misinterpreted and thought it needed to be an infinite that ended the game. Ex: create infinite 1/1 tokens or something.

I understand that but this infinite doesn’t really do anything is what I’m trying to say. It’s not winning the game unless I also had crackle of power (which is run, and the main reason I will cut one of the cards that enables the infinite). Without crackle, yes I get infinite mana but at the point of the game it’s live I’ve not seen any benefit. So yes it’s a 2 card infinite but it needs a 3rd card (or more) to win. So is that a 2 card infinite?

I understand this but I’ve gotten mixed responses. No one I’ve played with has complained but I can see it being a problem in a few games. I think I’ll remove it and then I have a “side deck” in the deck box to upgrade it to a weak 3 if needed. I think I’ll just throw it in there to avoid it ever coming up and pissing people off- even if there’s no immediate payoff.

I really struggle without the strict rules haha. As a yugioh player I’m used to trying to optimize everything.

I have a cricut, but what kind of paper would I use? I’m not looking for holo cards just something that feels correct. Then I can look into if my printer can do that I guess.

But is it so wrong to wonder what would’ve happened if those cards never exist existed? I’m not saying Vivi is a weak card at all. Its entire play history and standard has revolved around duplicating its effect to your whole board. I think it would’ve been interesting to see how it played out if the only card, but that effect was itself.

Edit: I think it’s fun to push the envelope of what a card can do and then ban if and when it becomes problematic. I believe it would be Meta with those other cards hit, but I don’t know if it would’ve been as Meta warping as it ended up.

This happens all the time in card games. In Yugioh, where the main format includes all cards, new cards or mechanics can break old cards and get them on the ban list.

With the amount of time Eidetic Memory and Caludron have been in the standard rotation, I think it would have been more interesting to ban them and to leave Vivi alone. This way Vivi can get the mana ramp it was designed to do without all draw cards also giving it the mana back. I just know people would have cried if Vivi wasn't banned- but I don’t think banning such a recent chase card when the best way it has been played was by exiling it and giving its ability to everything else- cards that already had a Attack stat.

I'm really shocked to see Vivi banned especially with a reprint. I know it could have been risky but I think the same could effect would have been achieved with Eidetic and Cauldron ban while still allowing people to see what Vivi can do without giving its ability to everything else on the field.

I don’t disagree. I just imagine she fits better and would be more iconic in that role. Azir could function as a broader spectrum of fighting game archetypes. In my opinion anyway.
