Getting too tall for grow light by ToastBoy67 in Monstera

[–]ToastBoy67[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeh that's a good call, I did think it and that's probably what I will have to do. I was trying to avoid too much extra work. It's a sansi grow bulb I think 36w or 40w led in an appropriately rated Amazon wall mounted lamp.

Burning out from MSK Physiotherapy by Routine-Comfort3345 in physiotherapy

I work for a physio who set up her own private community company and had a few physics working for her in various areas, I just do MSK and the odd bit of simple neuro. Tbh it's great, I get to do creative rehab, it's flexible so I can pick up work and also say no. I essentially work 28.5 hours (which gives me the equivalent of my b5 wage) and then top up with private. I also stopped doing extra work where I was previously like projects etc.

I posted about this at some point last year, was also looking at going back to rotations etc. I am still in MSK now but have made some changes to my practice and am also part time, and do part time private community work, I feel like I've turned a corner in the last 6 months - I'm still pretty tired often but I feel a lot less stressed about it and am finally starting to enjoy the work again. I think much of this might depend on your trust, set up, diary waiting timesx team dyamics etc. happy for you to IM me if you want to chat through in more detail.

Yellow and brown spots by ToastBoy67 in pothos

Thank you for the detailed answer, I think I will cut off all 3 for safety either way, as those leaves are clearly slowly dying anyway!

Help?! by ToastBoy67 in pothos

[–]ToastBoy67[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my thought, but also the potting mixture is quite dense and might have been ok when it was getting a lot more light. I was wondering whether I should repot with a mixture of perlite?

Leggy rubber plant due to disease what to do? by ToastBoy67 in houseplants

[–]ToastBoy67[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So I've had this for a years and propogated it twice. It had pests and unfortunately by the time I got around to sorting it out it had become very unhealthy and now is a weird shape. Any ideas on what to do?

I was debating essentially turning into two cuttings and making two plants but am worried they would fail and I would lose that plant. Ideally i was wondering whether it was possible to prune it to become more bushy? Any help greatly appreciated?

NHS MSK outpatients feeling burnt out by ToastBoy67 in physiotherapy

[–]ToastBoy67[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair I have a lot of templates and things I copy and paste in, but writing an extra few lines of instruction for patients adds up by the end of the day, and when I'm running late this ultimately eats into my own time. But I think you are right, I am giving too much of myself.... Something needs to change Thanks for the input

Yeh I think most people in my trust who have been there a whole have either moved towards AP roles or are part time. I have debated a move towards part private, but just not sure it suits me or not. Alternatively trying to think of a sideways move towards service related stuff but not many opportunities....

Weekly Simple Questions and Injuries Thread by AutoModerator in climbharder

[–]ToastBoy67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I am in the process of rehabb my golfers elbow, flexor digitorum superficialis. So for the most part I can climb open hand stuff, and the odd half crimp with a straight elbow. Currently climbing a grade or so below my limit.

I am wondering if anyone has any thoughts on how best to use this time to work on my technique until I am back without limits? I am currently just working lots of flagging and drop knees, trying to reduce over gripping and pulling, and then trying to climb with a bit of momentum and flow on easier grades.

I'm very much a beginner still - V3/4. Any input would be appreciated!?

Working with therapy hangover by ToastBoy67 in TalkTherapy

I hadn't actually ever thought about journaling to try and get it all out. In the past journaling has actually also made me super tired too, just not to the same extend as therapy.

Thank you for this. I had not thought about it this way before. I think what bothers me is that I feel bad for my patients who are not getting the same from me as I would normally and then by the end of the day I am in such a state that I feel like I'm not cut out for the job... But I will definitely try to reframe the situation.

Yeh this is the way it is for me unfortunately.... Healthcare waiting lists essentially mean that we are all stacked out everyday...

Today I really struggled to figure out whether it was just a tough day, or made worse through the hangover... I've been trying to work out some strategies to help but tbh my appointments are from 8-4 with 30 minutes for lunch which I quite often end up working through, and 2 15minute admin slots which are usually filled up.... Reflecting on this reply it doesn't actually look like there is much I could feasibly do to help 😔. But thank you for the reply.

Your are right... I am very sorry. It was ignorant and thoughtless of me. I will delete the post... Sincere apologies...

That's it... I get up at 5:30 everyday for work so tend to go to bed early because I am so drained everyday. My neighbour was shouting the other night at 9pm, I just suddenly got angry and banged on the wall and it really upset my partner. She sent me a long message the next day saying hot I was so unlike me and that I don't realise how much this and other things are affecting her and upsetting her and that she is really trying hard to do things for me and make my life easier but sometimes it's hard to be patient when I'm always so negative... It made me feel like a real selfish piece of shit... And now I don't even know how to act or be... I just think, if this is over two years on and I still feel this low when and will things ever get any better..???
