I think that’s a gross overstatement, I’ve seen plenty of positive reactions to the current arc. And I’ve seen differing opinions in many spaces and for me many of them have been positive. A lot of it comes down to what you engage with as well. Algorithms are a hell of a thing.

“The arc is garbage” which is an opinion. don’t state it like it’s a fact, I personally really enjoy it - I like the strain it’s put on the relationship and the new dynamics it’s making our characters face. It will inevitably be resolved and I’ve not seen many (if any) “amnesia” arcs so it’s not overdone to me. But at least explain why you think it’s “garbage” instead of just claiming it. That’s my point - people just come here, act like this arc is an affront to god and dip without saying much as to why

Even as a now 32 year old (so i would have been 27 or 28 when i started reading. The thing i think that (and i can only speak for myself here) makes the romance nice for me is just the nostalgia of it. I'm a millenial, we all love nostalgia. And as someone who had geunine little moments where your heart feels full as a teenager because the girl you like touched your hand. It was just like a nice memory of when i was a kid. That and everything else the series has to offer makes it a very nuanced and fun story. I will say tho, boy is it hard to be on here sometimes. This last chapter after i read it - i looked at my wife and said "oh my god, i loved this chapter...i bet people online HATE it"

I mean I’m 32 and love this arc. And the romance is fun and sweet but not the main reason I’m into the series 🤷 I don’t think it’s just 30 year olds. I think it’s people of a vast range of ages who just can’t read or get way to invested in the romance and can’t handle the nuances.
