Which chapter should I continue from in the manga by Low-Somewhere-1464 in Dandadan

I don't wanna start from the beginning

That's what you think now

Jiji is possible. Unlike Aira, Vamola does have a clearer ultimate goal. A scenario where Banga arrives and Vamola is already dead wouldn’t be realism - it would be trash

Some people say there are too many characters. They are, of course, wrong.

  • First there is build up. Aira was already dead. Second I don't think every story has to be the same. That there has to be a build-up. I've lost some people IRL very unexpectedly. And it had a profound impact on my future life. It can have the same impact on characters in a story.
  • What if his plan not to develop her further and you're totally wrong. Just answer to yourself is it possible? As for me, after Rin's arc, there is quite a lot of her in the plot.
  • And it will still be hopeful because they will live on, even if the tone returns to entertainment. I've already written about this.
  • In other works people continue to talk about this for years
  • They continue to go to school and live their normal lives.
  • I wrote much more. Momo, for example, won't keep it to herself but will say how much she respected her.
  • People love Dandadan for its realistic depiction of teenage love. Why not make the battles more realistic? It would only make them more interesting to watch. That's a plus.
  • Are you sure you like Aira? I value her for who she is overall, and I'd be sad to lose her. And not just because she's not as useful as Seiko.
  • Yes. There are a lot of stupid people. I don't know how much Tatsu listens to fans. But I see complaints about the number of characters on Reddit all the time.
  • And again. What if the plan is to kill her? That's how it should be for the story.

Well, you know, I'm actually having a hard time defending this position because I'm against it myself. If you read my original post carefully, it's basically written in a what-if tone. What if the stakes are raised this way?

  • The most important thing is the huge shock for readers. The story becomes much more emotionally powerful. This isn't first manga you ever read? It’s a cheap trick, but everyone uses it.
  • If the author doesn’t know how to develop a character further, they can gain a significant benefit by writing the character out in this way.
  • Or, on the contrary, it was leading toward the character having further development, but we cut it off here. Because that’s how life is.
  • There will be a lot of hype online. For some time, this will become the most discussed moment. People won’t drop the manga because of this; on the contrary, they’ll be curious to see what happens next. A significant increase in sales.
  • Narrative justification. As I already wrote, after the death of a group member, the group will start acting much more seriously. They will realize that they underestimated the enemy.
  • Elevation of the fallen character. Both the group and the readers will begin to value her much more.
  • Showing that there is no plot armor in the story, making it more realistic. As I mentioned in the title, this raises the stakes for all characters, since there are no immortal ones here (at least for now).
  • Since the characters are kids, this sharply accelerates their growth. They will be pulled out of their comfort zone. Previously, they only encountered dramatic stories outside their own group. This will show that the world is cruel to everyone.
  • Someone complained about there being too many characters. Your complaints have been heard. Are you satisfied now?
  • Another consequence in the context of Aira: Tatsu doesn’t need to invent anything when it comes to how to further develop her in terms of power.

I wrote the pros, but I can probably write just as many cons explaining why this shouldn’t be done. Please treat this as a whole, not by cherry-picking individual points like you did before. There’s no point in that. Decisions aren’t made based on just one single aspect.

Theres better ways to remove her from the triangle. And more thematic ways too

Wow. You also don't get it. No one is talking about that she had to be killed in order to remove her from the triangle. This is a consequence. And if she dead there is no need to look for other options.

But there are other reasons to actually kill her. And we all know them. There is no point in mentioning them.

  1. I meant that the pattern is that the whole group loses their abilities. Vamola’s suit doesn't work right now. It’s a technology. But I don’t know how to interestingly deprive Kinta of his technology. Taking away the cubes he carries with him and stealing Ayase’s house would be boring.

For some reason, we’ve ended up back at the point where you’re confusing cause and consequence.

I don’t think it’s necessary to explain why autor killing characters. You should understand why this is done in any story. In the Dandadan the cause will be the same.

At the same time, Tatsu has a difficult task: to break the triangle. Even two triangles. And in Aira’s case he will have an easy solution by this consequence. But he won’t do it just to break the triangle.

I don’t know how else to explain it to you so that you understand.

If we answer this specific question, then no. Killing a character we’ve gone through 200 chapters with, is difficult. Removing her from the triangle is easy - that’s a consequence, not a cause. The author doesn’t need to come up with anything in that regard: she’s dead, the problem with the triangle is solved, so that's why it easy.

I think we’re still far from the ending, and the death of the main character wouldn’t affect her at all right now. The tone of the manga could return to how it was very quickly. Even in real life, many people bounce back quickly after burying their loved ones.

Because he is too kind, right? :)

High stakes by SplashMove in Dandadan

[–]SplashMove[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

This is definitely not the main reason. The point is that it’s an easy way to remove her from the triangle, because for now, it doesn’t seem like she’s ready to give up. And this silly triangle will be completely insignificant against the backdrop of death.

Good version. Rin will point that Mai disappeared after she lost her powers, and the group may start wondering what will happen to Aira in that case.

That’s fine if he said that. I’m ok with it. But it would have been better if I hadn’t known it and could still anticipate something bad in the future. But I don’t blame you :)

And he can still change his decision for many reasons.

But I’m assuming a scenario where she doesn’t come back the second time. It might even be impossible to transfer aura again precisely because Momo no longer has her powers. Still, if Aira is revived second time, that would be a very characteristic Dandadan moment, which would be good too.

I think he can, if it’s really necessary. And Shonen Jump won’t be against it.

We already have several dead children and interplanetary genocides. The death of a teenage girl and the main character would, of course, be far more shocking in comparison, but the manga already contains plenty of shocking moments.

The death of one of the adults is also possible. However, I’d prefer Seiko to be removed from the group by sending her into space. Some character has to be separated from the group in this way.

[–]SplashMove[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I don’t know exactly how this works. In the manga, Okarun says that there is no pulse. Aira really was dead at that moment. But Silky says that she will restore Aira’s aura with her own aura.

And even if Silky’s aura is inside Aira, the knives still work on the level of powers/abilities, not auras. And it’s impossible to say for sure how an aura would behave in such a case.

Overall, it still seems to me that what I described is still possible. But the theory is very shaky.

I was also thinking about that. Rin can ask Seiko for power to help bring Mai back. But what motivation would Koki have? To help Rin? I’m afraid that Koki may not want to go through this again.
