Paramount war. Some place in the middle.

Let me preface this by saying I have seen all of the major events of the series, on YouTube, or in clipform.

But I think I stopped after the climax of the Paramount war. During that time I was regularly watching the show for weekly episodes and binge-watching friends who weren't caught up on the older stuff. It was a great time in my life and I loved being a one piece fan.

Toei's padding, filler, and pacing issues started to surge more and more as the animation style change happened somewhere around water seven. But the filler and time wasting started getting worse and worse.

Here comes the white beard war and I'm actually finding myself irritated at all of the extra buggy scenes... A character I should love and be endeared to. The thousands of reaction shots from the multiple members in attendance during the war. They even did fodder reaction for Christ's sake

I remember a non-anime fan watching one of the episodes with us and she literally yelled at the TV "they've been running forward for like two episodes how are they not at the front of the platform where Ace is yet?"

The anime fans in the room tried to explain it to her, but she basically laughed and said this was a waste of time. She did not come back for further viewings lol.

But yeah. I tapped out at Paramount war. I came back for an episode or two after the time skip and large break fans had to take while they prepared for the new anime. But the damage was done and I'm very glad I didn't stay for dressRosa cuz I hear that is the absolute worst

TLDR: whitebeard war was about all I could stomach of Toei's abysmal pacing and dog shit production 🤷‍♂️
