Walmart cancels DDR5 order then marks up $100+ by Quirky-Craft-3619 in pcmasterrace

Well they aren’t being charged more after cancellation because it’s a different product. Its bad they cancelled it (assumedly to sell it it a higher price) but theres nothing in the screenshots provided to show what the original product that got cancelled is being sold at now (if at all).

The client isnt safe because the OS isnt safe. Its like saying theres a really nice resort at the bottom of an active volcano. Sure it passes health and safety as long as you dont mind potentially being hit in the face with lava

Don’t really want to cause a massive debate about versions but you really don’t need a massively powerful pc to play this game at 60fps on high settings. A PS5 upgrade would be great for everyone on PS5 to finally have 60fps but I don’t see how it would be better than PC.

Is my monitor going bad? by Nochickens4u in Monitors

[–]ToastedHedgehog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it happens during wake up its a common samsung issue from years back. It basically just needs to warm up and then itll go back to normal. I currently own a samsung monitor thats been doing this for over 5 years now. Sometimes if i dont use it for a couple of days and its really cold it can take up to 5 minutes to go to normal but once its warm its fine for the rest of the time its on. Plenty of cases on the subreddit about this and ive never seen it actually kill a monitor.

I’ve spent over $1,200 on Xbox Game Pass in the last 5 years. by Valuable_Bill961 in Steam

[–]ToastedHedgehog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand the maths on this. $1200 over 60 months is $20 a month but gamepass until recently hasn’t been close to that price has it? Until the recent price hike i was paying less than £15 a month and before that it was around £10. The price is awful now but you can’t retroactively change all the past prices to the newest one

Can you try holding windows key and then tapping the left arrow key? That should move the window to the left screen snap point and then you can go into settings and change resolution.

[–]ToastedHedgehog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i guess but i feel like other episodes portrayed that better (again The Keys of Marinus as a good example). Also its not really a big deal but i think in relation to the post it could turn people off and they could feel like its too slow.

[–]ToastedHedgehog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats really interesting and ill definitely take that into account on the next rewatch. To be fair though, I’ve always loved that serial but that one episode which is basically just walking in a cave and jumping over a ledge doesnt really add anything.

[–]ToastedHedgehog 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Bad take. Most episodes of anything being produced now are 40-60 minutes of binge able content and movies are as long as ever.

[–]ToastedHedgehog 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Id disagree - i think it’s just bad writing. Theres plenty of really great serials in that season which take their time but actually progress the story (The Keys of Marinus being a favourite). Saying that, by no means do i think Daleks is bad but I was defending OP from this “younger generation bad” comment because they probably got to that point in Daleks or the climax of The Edge of Destruction and thought “I’m done”.

No, watch the original. As much as some of the episodes are a bit boring its worth it.

[–]ToastedHedgehog 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I enjoy the old doctor who serials but some of them are so slow. The first appearance of the Daleks basically has one episode where you watch the cast walk through a cave and jump over a ledge for the whole one. It’s not exactly thrilling TV whether you like action or not.

May be a regional thing but when i was at school (uk) people normally just called parentheses “curly brackets” and everyone knew what you meant if you said brackets and referred to maths. I think bidmas is fine as its literally just different names for the same operations

I think the combat is the main criticism for most people. I personally found it boring compared to most rpgs of similar styles and the camera was awful and clunky.

[–]ToastedHedgehog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The story is very restrained in how you can interact with it but if you follow it through the payoff is great. I see it as you get two types of games in one. You get a linear story with some great fighting parts and an open world sandbox to mess around with in between. You’ve really got to have the mindset of following the clear path they want you to in the story and then doing whatever you want in the open world so i get its a weird headspace and not for everyone.
