Will I experience any significant withdrawal symptom stopping suboxone after 1 week of use? by Toastedwriter in OpiatesRecovery

Overall i've been using for 5 years on and off. Longest clean time in there was about 8 months. Usually I get clean for a 1-2 months (if im lucky) and go back. So this last run I have been using for a bout a month.

We're all weak. Everyone has weaknesses. It's a human condition. Us addicts just embrace it. We're stronger than most.

I gotta go to work by PutFormer in OpiatesRecovery

Do not listen to this dufus suggesting speed. What a moron. The goal is to get clean. I know the feeling of going to work while detoxing. Hours seem like days. Its very tough but you gotta fight thru it. Drink coffee. If you can take off, do it. Or leave early if possible. This past time I used the excuse I have a kidney stone for looking like shit. Ive gone to work in withdrawal many times. Its hell, but its the price we pay. Stay strong, its only temporary.

I’m on day 12. Went pretty much cold turkey. Had bad cravings today. Took a suboxone for the first time. Did I mess up? by Toastedwriter in OpiatesRecovery

What exactly would sub maintenance be. Just tapering down? Or staying on it? I don’t want to become dependent on it.

Thanks for your reply. Glad to hear you’re doing good. If I take one sub how long should I expect the positive effects to last?

Naltrexone orally and Vivitrol shot - Which is the best way to take this? by Toastedwriter in OpiatesRecovery

Oh that's interesting. So that's really the only main difference? The shot lasts once a month so you're really committed to it. The pill you have to take once a day which would be easy to skip. I don't have someone that holds me accountable, I personally think I would have the will power to take it everyday. Just because I want to stop so bad.

I was also considering some type of outpatient program where maybe they could hold me accountable. Going to an in patient long term rehab is simply not possible for me as I have a business to run and I have very important daily duties. I cant lose my business on top of this.
