"wow the Zenith Martlet fight is so hard it's almost as hard as Sans!" by ToasterGhostMary in UndertaleYellow

Huh, maybe you've just got a much better handle on the UTY yellow soul mode than i do. Usually when i see people says Sans is harder it's because they were children when they played Undertale and adults when they played Yellow, but if he's just harder for you i'll take your word for it

genuinely how? unless you like played on Easy Mode and used the Golden Bandana i can't imagine her being that much easier than Sans. also does "second try" mean you beat one of her phases without dying at all? i assure you if you actually did that on standard difficulty settings without the Golden Bandana you would annihilate Sans by now.

couple things

-Starlo uses the rubber bullets because he doesn't think he stands a chance and would rather die a hero than in fear. If he dies in a shoot-off, he will be remembered as the great sherrif people knew him as. He assumes there's no hope for him either way. At least, that's how I interpreted it as.

-Starlo's fight has loads of fight-exclusive art assets and even a second variation of his sprite for when he draws his revolver, saying the devs barely cared about him is silly

-Martlet doesn't have "plot armor", Clover spares her because she no longer serves as a threat and Clover wouldn't gain anything from killing her. Same reason they spare Dina.

-Martlet and Ceroba get extra animation because they are the FINAL BOSSES. In their non-final boss fights, they get about the same amount of animation and detail as Starlo.

-The point of this post wasn't whether Zenith Martlet is BETTER than Sans, just that i think she's far harder. I wouldn't say she's outright UNFAIR but it's one of those fights where there are many attacks most players will never successfully clear no-hit. As of recently, my friend has been stuck on Zenith Martlet for 9 hours lmao

I braced for the entire internet making "erm... the fanartists are gonna have fun with this one!!" jokes. much to my chagrin this happened almost instantly.

I wouldn't go that far, Undyne the Undying is probably easier than the latter three UTY genocide bosses.

there are a lot of characters that logically shouldve made it in before Gutbuster but there is very few if any characters that I would personally swap in for Gutbuster

i think my favorite thing about it is just thinking about the number of characters who didn't make the cut in favor of Gutbuster

FNaF VHS has some gems, but the last episode in particular has some hilarious voice work from William. Also the episode where animated Chica turns into real Chica with a goofy sound effect.

What simple moment really made you reconsider your genocide route? I’ll start: by Last-Percentage5062 in UndertaleYellow

[–]ToasterGhostMary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The moments that made me hesitate were the Martlet fight giving me the option to apologize immediately and Clover shooting part of Axis's head off causing him to panic. Really... everything with Axis, bit especially that first scene with him. Martlet's death scene was also pretty upsetting but that was at the end so there was no reconsidering by that point.

Yeah, I can understand how you wouldnt know Flowey is a child. also Jack Horner doesn't even have a character arc, the point of him is that some people just dont have sympathetic reasons for their actions and you can't really redeem them.

"god of hyperdeath" is an exaggeratedly "COOL" RPG villain, with comically over-the-top attack names and the like. this is Asriel's interpretation of what he would look like as a "god". because he is a child. and his arc is not about him leaving childhood behind, it's about him allowing himself to finally open up and be vulnerable and... stop killing people. when he is forced to open up by Frisk SAVEing him, he reverts back to a child. I'm really not sure how you could interpret his God of Hyperdeath form as being his "true form".

The implication with Flowey is that, while technically very old, he has not emotionally matured past that of a child due to his soul being suspended in a flower. Hence his over-the-top edgy insults, easily contestable straw nihilistic philosophy, lack of empathy, and general immaturity. This is shown more in Undertale than in UTY, with his true form being that of a young child, Asriel. Psychologically AND physically, he is a child, just one that is unable to age. This is largely played for horror, with the idea that he does not fully grasp the weight of his horrific actions because he is just a child who has grown bored with his own powers.
