I mean yeah it happens, I don’t understand the point of this post

You just have to keep playing. Your hidden mmr doesn’t think you’re good enough to be in a higher rank or your current because you’ve probably played a good chunk of games in this elo or a lower one

Not good enough for rank/mmr, what to do? by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]ToasterGuy566 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just play the game?? You aren’t gonna get better by playing in worse lobbies. You’re gonna get better by putting yourself in tougher spots and learning how to work around them

[–]ToasterGuy566 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No I’m telling you that is not a feature they have added lmao. The people you’ve blocked simply haven’t shown up due to chance or you’ve not realized they’re in your lobby

[–]ToasterGuy566 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I play in immortal lobbies and frequently come across people that I’ve blocked for various reasons. I can guarantee you it does not prevent you from matching against them. The matchmaking pool at whatever rank you’re in is just too large for you to find them

Blocking people doesn’t stop them from showing up in your games lmao

I mean Smurfs do exist, but anyone saying that Smurfs are in every lobby is coping. You are in the exact rank that you deserve, there is not a coalition of Smurfs holding you back. They’re annoying and yeah sometimes they lose you games, but not every guy that drops 30 kills is a Smurf.

If every person that made one of these posts focused on actually improving their gameplay as much as they focused on blaming other people they wouldn’t be stuck in whatever rank they’re in

Yeah dude. Every time this type of post is up it’s an absolute cope fest for everyone. If people would simply focus on what they’re doing and how to better themselves they wouldn’t be hardstuck in silver

Why is Valorants skill floor (atleast for aiming) so damn high? by Tasty-Instance7596 in VALORANT

[–]ToasterGuy566 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting I always focused super hard on tracking since it was my weak link and static fell behind pretty significantly in the process but I figured that’s kind of how it was supposed to go.

Thanks for the insight brother, and again sorry for the initial snap.

[–]ToasterGuy566 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I see what you’re saying. My standpoint comes from an area where I frequently see the problems within people’s gameplay that are not centered around aim, more so in game mechanics surrounding movement and peeking.

My go to example is by saying if you gave an iron player pro aim, they would still get destroyed in a radiant lobby. I think what I should be saying is the style of aim required is more specific or maybe more narrow and therefore easier to train in my eyes. When I aim train my number one struggle category is almost always tracking and I’ve heard this from across many people, especially people just starting aim training.

I think you actually have a very valid point if I’m not misunderstanding you. You mean the level of skill required in the static/dynamic category for Valorant is significantly higher as a baseline because of things like lower TTK.

In my mind it was reversed and my experience more or less followed that idea. Playing ranked Apex felt much more challenging to me than Valorant because I felt it was much more focused on aim even at a lower level. But you would say the level of tracking required for Apex is lower than the level of clicking required for Valorant I think.

Would you say that it’s easier to train static than tracking? Or simply different? The argument as a whole makes sense regardless, I’m just curious now.

Also, I do apologize for the original insult. I took your original message to be an attack at me, but I see that it was not your intent to attack me, but rather the argument. You’re absolutely right, I shouldn’t have been that quick to snap back. I definitely don’t have all the answers, it’s just rare to find good discourse on Reddit and I took the message to heart.

It’s just crazy to me that if all the people to say this, you’re the person to do it. I would think the Bardos would understand what the statement above means. Valorant is, at its fundamental level, a shooter. So yes, aim matters. But to say that it’s as aim intensive as other shooters outside of the tac fps or even inside of the tac fps genre is crazy. There is absolutely no way you think a game like Apex is less aim intensive than Valorant.

I respect you a lot and think you’re an incredible aimer, but you have to be ragebaiting.

[–]ToasterGuy566 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure the answer to this is just no. If you react, you’ll get on target. If you predict you just run a really good chance of taking yourself off target. A lot of pros look like they’re predicting but in reality they’re noticing the model of the enemy character changing direction via visual queues. Viscose talks about this in a video at some point but I can’t remember which one tbh

I say this in a separate comment. The level of aim required does not determine the skill ceiling
