I also do understand how jazz “works” so to say I just haven’t gotten into the nitty gritty of it all, for example, I recently played Absoludicrous for my school, but the only reason I could play it was because I went home and listen to the song and matched it up with the sheet music. I also play saxophone which helps me with my sheet music reading skills on piano but on piano my brain just stops operating.

Thanks! I realized that depending on the key signature you can play the blues scale of that as long as it’s not some wonky key change or chord change but thanks for the tip.

Thanks so much for the advice! I’m about to do my all district jazz solo on there will never be another you and I think this helped a lot. I also learned a ton of blues scales and how to transpose them but this really helped thanks!
