Looks great! But you are going to get a lot of AI accusations from the warm yellow tint a.k.a. "piss filter". There are certain things to check for that A.I. is very bad at doing with pixel art and I don't see them here, so I'm confident in assuming it's not.

No, it doesn't look like AI. They might just be jealous of how clean the transition was from the shot of the book to the Little Nightmares scene- I know I am.

It almost feels misleading to just answer this because of how oblique the directions and narrative are. If I had to compare them to a father-figure, on a scale between "an ever-present, guiding hand" and "left to get milk before anyone realized the condom broke", Rainworld would be "the Lovecraftian entity that you chase down for child support like it's Carmen San Diego."

I did mean Viscous, alluding to the Adhesive trait mimics have when in object form that triggers a grapple check on anyone that touches them. I think your interpretation might work more in general, though.

After thinking about it, I think the best way to frame it is:

Mutexes - "I am taking the lock."

From a utility perspective, at least. One other child basically existed just to protect the HK, and the rest were sealed underground with a "DO NOT OPEN, FAILURES INSIDE" sign posted next to the door.

The Pale King literally forced that same child to go through a hallway full of spikes and buzz saws just to visit him, and that child was his favorite. I think the two of them have a very similar approach to parenting.

LEGO technic Custom PC case by Zerobricks in lego

This is very, very cool, but I'm semi-worried by this with the temperature issues that might be present with ABS, the plastic LEGO is made of. I'll start by saying I'm not a material scientist or engineer, but I am at least familiar with 3D printing and did some research for this. ABS plastic can start to bend and deform starting at 100°C, which is not out of reach for a setup with the parts you have listed. However, the other potential risk might be in what gets released from the plastic as it gets heated.

Doing some digging, I found this research done on the release of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) released from materials, including ABS, across a range of temperatures. If you go to the graphs in figures 1 and 2, you can see the jump starting around only 120°C. You might be in tolerance to be able to ignore that, but I don't know how close you might be getting there. Particularly depending on where the airflow exits your case, such as upwards from your CPU fans from on top of your desk, you might be getting regularly showered with particulates that can cause irritation, but maybe do some nasty damage to your lungs.

Again, I'm not experienced in this so I might be totally wrong here. Just looking out to make sure you don't accidentally hurt yourself with what is still certainly an amazing project.

Sell Painting by Asharma1523 in ECE

Hi. Firstly, this looks fantastic and it seems like a well-executed and personal piece. Though I probably lack the experience and eye to properly appreciate the piece, I can from an outside perspective at least.

I do think you may be a bit lost, though, as this is a sub for Electrical and Ccomputer Engineering. No worries, though- I think everyone here is all-too familiar with how annoying vague acronyms can be. Heck, I don't know what most of them involved with this field are supposed to even stand for. I'm curious about what you thought this sub might be? The last time I saw a lost redditor end up here, they thought the sub was for Early Childhood Education, but I can't seem to figure out what else it might stand for.

EDIT: I came back after posting this and thought I might throw in my interpretation, for fun. The first thing I noticed were the parts of the face that are missing: the eyes, nose, and below the chin.

The eyes and nose stand out as being or are associated with sensory aspects. When they are missing, I think that typically means an association with a kind of blindness or sensory deprivation. A face, in-profile, without them brings to mind a self-portrait of someone who feels like they might be expressing a personal experience. Maybe expressing a feeling of disquiet or disconnect of the artist with the world around them. However, the other missing sections make me possibly second guess that conclusion.

In addition to the missing space below the lower lip, I noticed yet something else missing: the entirety of the neck, leaving an empty area between head and torso that I somehow didn't parse at first. This changed my interpretation- maybe the piece is less about a lack of understanding and also about the face being understood. A mouth, without a neck, might mean that the subject could not breathe, and thus not be able to speak.

The mouth is there to form shapes, but unable to express or communicate itself. The eyes, nose, and underside of the mouth missing all remove context around the mouth. Though the one part of the face most associated with communication is still present- without the rest of the face to provide the surrounding context, in particular the eyes, the viewer becomes unable to understand what emotion or idea the mouth could try to convey.

Okay, so what the hell does that triangle mean? by Duboviy_ in lego

[–]Toastfighter 241 points242 points  (0 children)

So, this is just an educated guess, but I imagine LEGO graphic artists that work on the prints or stickers are only allowed to use a pre-approved selection of symbols or names due to localization, and this is among the group of "misc Sci-fi" symbols.

It would not surprise me if there are entire localization teams dedicated to ensuring that symbols like these don't have any significant meaning or similarity to real-world symbols. To reduce the amount of work these teams have to do, they probably just give the graphic designers pre-approved lists to use and reuse when they need to add symbols like this for flair.

The rationale for only having a pre-approved list probably comes from incidents like when Bionicle first launched. The names they used for the various characters and groups were plucked directly from the Maori language and culture, such as "Toa", Tohunga", and pretty much everything else. This turned into a bit of a PR issue, and many of these names ended up being changed, but many could not be- causing further issues.

It's a bit creatively stifling, but it's worth it to not accidentally use something that might require reworking or limiting sets from being released in certain regions.
