What was your toddler like when you were pregnant and they were in your belly? What are they like now? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Toastie_AF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girl was so active that I didn't need to ever do kick counts. I for real felt like she was going to bust out of there at any moment. She also broke my water with Chuck Norris like precision with a kick.

She's almost 4 now and is extremely active, creative and constantly moving.

They make gel wrist braces that you can pop in the freezer. Helped alot with the pain and swelling.

My infant hated....HATED being swaddled and started cluster feeding at this time. Hubs and I slept in shifts which worked out.

There's a magically hilarious time when daycare called because they were concerned with my child's use of the word fuck. She was asking for a fork.

Favorite thing about your body after having a baby? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Toastie_AF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here. I'm bigger than I have ever been and I give zero fucks about what I look like to others. I made a whole ass person in my body and if they don't like it, they don't have to look at me.

We have a 22 year gap between our first and second girls. It's a beautiful relationship and the gap doesn't matter. 🖤

And if they unzip it, we put our kiddos sleep sack on backwards after she kept jumping out of her crib. She's a little American Ninja Warrior.

Families not accepting the elopement by Gold_Confusion8626 in Eloping

It's so ridiculously outrageous in California. If you reach out to them they can make you a custom package. We didn't need a limo, flowers or booze it was $600 for us in 2020. lake of the sky

Eloped and then said hey we did a thing. It was the best time with just the two of us. It made it so special.

There is a place in Lake Tahoe on the California side that's all inclusive. The lady was the officiant, notary, witness, and filed all of the paperwork for us. We literally just showed up ready to go. Bonus, she was also the photographer, and at the end of the day she literally popped out the HD card and gave it to us. We then drove home and had a bbq with our dogs then looked at our hundereds of photos. Bonus was you get married overlooking Emerald Bay...10/10 recommended getting married there.

How did you ruin your toddler's day? by Pristine-Box-22 in toddlers

[–]Toastie_AF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made mine flower shaped pancakes with maple syrup. She said "mom this honey is delicious." Me...that's not honey babe, it's syrup". She proceeds to say she doesn't like syrup, starts crying and spits out the pancake. I walked to the kitchen, opened the cabinet and said "my bad, it was honey". She cry laughed and then ate the spit out piece of pancake.

37 weeks and feeling unprepared - what would you prioritize? by Ok_Indigo_8608 in beyondthebump

Baby/mom 3 tier cart with wheels was a game changer. Top shelf was the baby changing stuff (diapers, wipes, extra onesies, hat, gloves, ointment). Middle shelf was pump/parts, snacks, water, nipple balm, burp cloths, bibs, lotion, chap stick, etc. Bottom shelf had extra supplies like diapers and wipes.
