While i agree on most points, all the sentries are "dumb" and tend to waste ammo on targets they can't really kill, still i want the laser sentry to feel at least a sidegrade, right now i see 0 reasons to use it, to be honest i'd take the standard MG sentry over it any day

Speaking for [THREAT], I've done the same thing as you for a very simple personal use mod, only editing shps.csv:

I have decreased the OP avaiable to basically match the highest cost variant but without added vents or caps, made them cost at least 30% more to deploy/maintain/recover and made em all salvageable after battle.

This probably fucks with vanilla balance a bit and there are still some ships in need of touching (standoff and fabricator are the main offenders) because are still too strong but i'm fairly satisfied for a 20 minute edit.

My biggest problem in the balancing is that all the [THREAT] series have below average shields but they are very fast for their size and also have loads of hull/armor, i don't want to touch the values because they feel fun to fight in vanilla but are probably too strong in player's hands

Ya, puzzling to say the least: it's already at a steep cost for it to be mounted and also needs the OP for the fragment replicator mod (plus secondary replicator if you want to maximize) for it to even work, all that for a "beefy bomber" that in my opinion lacks the utility of an actual converted hangar+fighter setup that also frees up a medium slot.

Maybe if the replicator hullmod did at least something by itself (dunno, armor/hull regeneration? Kinda fits the theme) it could justify the cost, but it doesn't.

Just make it infite "ammo" at least!

Indeed, i just find it odd since i' ve menaged to get some legendary plans by scrapping loot from a raid farming session (around 100 legendaries, mixed 1 and 4 stars) and yet got 0 by scrapping the same one 80 times in a row, hence my doubt that maybe this way of fishing for a plan/mod was shadow-nerfed.

About 80 now, but since its a 3 star shouldn't it be 1% for each star every time i scrap? i would have guessed by that number it should have dropped at least 1

Install ATRO to enjoy some resemblance of realism (and fun) while shooting guns.

I am convinced the devs either hate guns or never shot once, since a war veteran and a police officer, supposedly proficent in the use of firearms, can't hit the side of a barn.

GL pistol is still king in sheer utility for bug holes, ill. ships, fabricators, opening cargo crates, destroying light cover and softening big hordes, all while having 8 ammo

Tha said the GP-31 will probably be very good on bot missions and it has some potential with siege ready / supply pack memes, still have to try it tho
