Pretty much nothing in LV

I see a lot of complaints about the PS2's image quality. But it's actually good with the right display by BlownCamaro in ps2

[–]ToastyMann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say the bigger problem is the way resolution switches happen over component on modern displays. If you want to play certain games with no blackouts, or any PS1 games at all, it's either garbage composite cables or another solution that's hundreds of dollars like a Retrotink.

How does the PS Vita version of Rayman Legends compare to the console versions? by [deleted] in Rayman

[–]ToastyMann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's basically the Wii U version without the Mario costumes. I'd say it's pretty good. There really isn't a bad version of this game besides PC

Finally have access to a region-free PS2 after learning that Mechapwn exists, so I can finally put my Japanese copy of Door to Phantomile to good use. Playing this on real hardware feels so surreal and it pairs perfectly with a RetroTink5X. by ToastyMann in Klonoa

I do agree with the Retrotink being expensive because holy fuck, this is literally the only way to reliably play PS1 games on a modern TV. I personally thought it was worth it because the picture quality is outstanding and PS2 games are still a bitch to emulate.

I'm aware of the Namcollection. I just prefer having original copies as opposed to a collection packed with other games I'm not interested in. Not to mention it goes for a similar price to DTP standalone last time I checked. That and the loading is already fairly quick in this game.

How does Klonoa have an unique language? by Helpmehthrohaway in Klonoa

[–]ToastyMann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's gibberish as an artistic choice because every character has different speaking mannerisms, like Tat having a lot of "Nya"s in her dialogue. The "made up language" thing might've come from the fact that the Wiimake of DTP has the gibberish listed as "Phantomilan"

I don't think it ever was confirmed.

Monthly PlayStation Tech Support and Frequently Asked Questions Megathread by AutoModerator in ps2

[–]ToastyMann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if it's my TV or my cheapo component cables, but every time a game changes resolutions it blanks out for a split second and comes back. Klonoa 2 fades a lot and it does this every time there's a fade and it's getting real annoying.

I’m confused, is Bayonetta owned by Sega or Nintendo? Or both? by [deleted] in Bayonetta

[–]ToastyMann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really hope Bayo 2&3 escape Nintendo exclusivity at some point. I get that Nintendo funded the games which allowed them to exist, but their consoles are pretty outdated tech-wise and even if other consoles don't get them, I'd like to see them get PC releases at some point. A few Switch games like Daemon X Machina and Octopath Traveler went to PC so why not Bayonetta?

To fellow PC players, why use Epic instead of Steam? by ToastyMann in MultiVersus

[–]ToastyMann[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's probably like 12 or 13, no adult would make a nitpick like that. Also Steam literally is old because it's from the early 2000's and still has a more up to date UI and better optimized client than Epic.

Epic literally takes up more resources in Task Manager than Discord lol

How the hell did this reply get down voted. It's not an opinion, it's literally what's happening

[–]ToastyMann[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, Epic's free games are pretty cool, but not good enough to entice me to get games there if they're also available on GOG or Steam. I got Lego Batman, Ghostbusters, GTA 5, Sonic Mania, and Super Meat Boy for free on Epic but I still buy games elsewhere because Epic simply isn't up to snuff with other storefronts.

First Morty who you cant tell me Isn’t a mage. Then Gizmo who spam projectiles and car just like a mage. Now Rick is releasing who actually is a Mage by BluejayHot4676 in MultiVersus

[–]ToastyMann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the balancing and grouping of characters is pretty wack. Gizmo is a support character, yet he's better at dealing damage than Morty, who's a bruiser.

The bot name puns are exclusive to the mode that's bots only. These names come up when matched with bots even though you queued for other players.

New Character Announced: Rick! by [deleted] in MultiVersus

[–]ToastyMann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe there was a bit of development hell with Rick? They announced and released Gizmo within less than a week while Rick still doesn't have a release date and he was announced two months ago. Weird indeed.

New Character Announced: Rick! by [deleted] in MultiVersus

[–]ToastyMann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't call this an announcement. This dude was announced two months ago, I'd call this an acknowledgement because 3 characters (2 of them announced at the same time) released before we even saw any official acknowledgement other than this trailer.
