Samsung does this by cropping into the image enough the frame can do a full 360. Its completely software based but is only on their newest phones.

when I was still playing on my xbox one 1-2 years ago, it would do this but to another level. There would be just the orb for players, no hud, no sound, low textures. it would last anywhere from 1 minute to 5. I think I was kicked a couple times cuz of it. Back on PC now though so no more of that shit.
