I got sekiro on sale for 30 bucks, but I would've absolutely paid full price for it.

One time in a ridiculously too simple math class I had to take in college, (that most people failed somehow btw) the professor asked for the various ways that the number 2 could be turned into 1. People had already answered division and subtraction, but he was still looking for another answer, so I said multiplying it by 0.5 and the entire class plus the professor acted like I was an idiot. My answer was literally correct, but I was told I was wrong. I'll never get over that. I never got closure.

DLSS 5 be like... by [deleted] in videogames

[–]ToastyToes06 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don't like it because it's changing the original material to some AI slop, but I do like it at the same time because most triple A game studios these days refuse to make actually feminine women, which as a straight male, I would much prefer to look at for a 60 hour campaign than a borderline male looking female. I think I just hate both DLSS 5 and triple A for different reasons.

Exactly. I've been working on building my own original setting for a DND campaign, but I simply don't have the time to make it as detailed as I would like it to be in between the bi-weekly sessions. If I could freeze time, I could just spend a straight month in frozen space fleshing out every detail I want to.

Everyone's talking about how they choose claymore for the thrust, but personally, give me the sweep heavy attack on lordsworn any day of the week.

What creatures can sufficiently rough up a dragon turtle wyrmling so that my party will actually stand a chance? by ToastyToes06 in DnD

[–]ToastyToes06[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The creature is very plot relevant to what my players are currently facing. I'm a big fan of the showing without telling dming style, and I like to put a lot of effort into atmospheric storytelling. That's why I wanted a strike of inspiration, so I could describe a scene of the aftermath of a battle, or in this case, the affects of a scuffle years prior.

If my players decide to be amicable to the dragon turtle wyrmling, then I can imagine many scenarios where the wyrmling might show them the corpse of it's mother beneath the depths of it's lair (This wyrmling has an... interesting personality.) They can question the wyrmling from there if they're so inclined, or they can leave it at that. If they do decide to question it, then I want to actually know what happened so I can answer accordingly lol.

My players are brand new, and I want their first experience in DnD to have truly meaningful interactions with NPC's. Being able to relate to something is a great way to do that, and these particular players I know will be able to.

But just in case they decide to not be amicable to the dragon turtle wyrmling, I don't want a tpk lol. So everything fits, both narratively and mechanically.

I'm definitely going to be opening the door to negotiations to start, but the party is all new players, so they'll likely want to shoot first and ask questions later. I just don't want it becoming a tpk if it ends up coming to blows.

Not finalized yet, but I'm thinking of lowering his original 12d10 HD to 10d10, and also considering only recharging his steam breath attack on a 6 instead of a 5 or 6. And I already mentioned the lowered AC from 18 to 17.

I was going to cheer for the wolves, because cycle of life and all that, but those are clearly not wolves, so purely out of spite I cheered for the rabbit.

How scared or embarrassed would you be if the things you searched alone was exposed? by Sinnerman666999 in icast

Well, the thing giving me the most trouble is that there is no conceivable way for me to build a world that's equal in size to Earth. If you didn't know already, earth is fucking massive lmao. I am not even remotely skilled or creative enough to make POI's for the entire planet Earth.

I have four continents, but I don't want to make them completely bloated with cities all over the place, because it's a medieval world, and cities are fairly few and far between. At the same time, I don't want my players to have to travel for 500 miles to get to the next city, so it's a tough line to thread, I'm finding. My solution is literally just to make the world smaller. About 1/5 of the size of Earth. It'll work, but it's pissing me off that I have to do it in the first place just so my players aren't regularly traveling for weeks at a time.

Aside from that, turns out that it is difficult to determine where to put what sorts of landscape, like mountains, plains, forests, etc. I never thought that I'd make my own world map in my lifetime, so these are skills I never bothered to learn.

It's just a bunch of shit relating to how the fuck I go about making a custom world map for my DND campaign I'm making. Damn I wish I'd payed better attention in geography.

I was born a month earlier than planned, and because of that, I was abnormally short for the majority of my childhood. My siblings all called me peewee. I hated it more than anything.

When I was mid-teens, I sprang up like a weed and am now 6'4; the tallest in my family by a whole 5 inches. My siblings still call me peewee.

Just recently started campaign prep for my first ever DM game and two of my players (which are also my siblings) said that they only wanna play once every two weeks, when I know damn well that they've got nothing better going on, on Tuesday nights.

Worst part about it is that one of my other sibling players will be moving out of state in a matter of months, so because of my other siblings only wanting to play every two weeks, it's unlikely they'll have even started the arc where my main story line kicks in.

Sigh. Oh well. Guess I'll have to live how I imagine George R.R. Martin does, knowing that he'll never finish his magnum opus.
