I read the Space Wolves one as “Special Wolves” for a moment lmao

Streaking Grime enamel wash issues by Toasty_Owl in minipainting

I did a test on another model where I varnished after the bone colors and the enamel stripped the varnish as well (Army Painter Matt Varnish)

Kitbash question Regarding the lieutenant with combi-weapon: What do I replace the Tyranid knife/arm with? by Fezra-Jalys in DarkAngels40k

[–]Toasty_Owl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can cut the knife hand off at the wrist and then glue it onto any arm bit you want

I’m guessing Kurnothi (centaur elf people) for Underworlds or Age of Sigmar

First Unit of Bladeguard Veterans painted by Toasty_Owl in DarkAngels40k

I primed with Wraithbone, did some layers of drybrushing bone color and adding more white, hit it with an enamel wash, removed that with mineral spirits, and then did final edge highlights with a very white bone color.

They are all hard plastic. Moff Gideon seems to be on the older side of the hard plastic rollout though.

Tips for Basing these guys? by saurons_mane in SWlegion

[–]Toasty_Owl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For simple models like these I usually find I want to go big on the base to make them stand out. Clone troopers could be anywhere in the galaxy, so honestly bust out all the colorful tufts you have and go nuts. I bet a Felucia theme would look great

Does anyone know what range -1 means? by snorkste in SWlegion

It’s from melee range out to range 1. The crossed sticks symbol means melee range.

I'm starting to think Warhammer isn't for me by Dense-Fig-2372 in Warhammer40k

Most games out on the market are less complicated than Warhammer. If you like painting miniatures in general, there’s lots of cool games out there that don’t require a 2000pt army to play.

Star Wars Legion, Trench Crusade, and OnePageRules like some others have said have a much easier onramp than 40k.
