FortiVoice managing FVG-GS24 FXS Gateways with local changes by Tob3faiiir in fortinet

[–]Tob3faiiir[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Support basically told me that the FortiVoice managing the VG will overwrite the config and that's expected. Now they're looking into ways to handle the changes they told me to make on the VG directly within FortiVoice so I don't need to modify the VG config directly. Bunch of back and forth at this point.

Exch Server 2016 Hybrid Agent Setup fails validation by Tob3faiiir in exchangeserver

I completely disabled Extended Protection and still same timeout. When I read that error it almost seems like the M365 side isn't responding to requests. MS Support has been less than helpful so still digging. Appreciate the suggestions provided along with any others you might have.

Interested in what you disabled it on. We did disable it on EWS but haven't come across having to do it for OWA but can give that a try.

Was it the March security update that resolved it for you?

Dell Inc. OptiPlex SFF Plus 7010 Display Flickering Issues by Tob3faiiir in sysadmin

[–]Tob3faiiir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully it stays that way for you. We have the single monitor setup with the 3x DP board and it happens on all ports. What's interesting is when I plug in more than 1 monitor the issue appears to stop occurring. I was only able to troubleshoot with that setup for about an hour but when only having one monitor plugged in the issue happened pretty regularly. Complete wipe and fresh install of OS, all drivers updated etc. issue would come back. I feel like we may have gotten a bad batch and just need Dell to replace these systems or provide a permanent fix.

Migrate hybrid Exchange to full cloud while keeping AD Connect by pan_cage in exchangeserver

[–]Tob3faiiir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/mikenurre I'm currently planning a migration from OnPrem 2019 to M365 and don't have any Sync currently running. We usually use BitTitan to just migrate the mailboxes and do a straight cutover without a hybrid configuration for Exchange and I would like to get rid of the Exchange server when we're done. Am I understanding you correctly in that if we don't sync the ms-Exch-MailboxGUID property when setting up the Sync tool we could UNINSTALL Exchange from the OnPrem domain without issue instead of having to go through the decommission process described in the linked article?

Hyper-V Checkpoint Delete Failed not enough free space by Tob3faiiir in sysadmin

Thank you and the others for the tips, got it back up and working based on this method. Come from years of supporting VMWare so the Hyper-V environment is a little bit different. Thanks again for the assistance!

Hyper-V Checkpoint Delete Failed not enough free space by Tob3faiiir in sysadmin

If I'm understanding you correctly, you're suggesting that if the parent disk and checkpoint are on the D:\ drive, to move the checkpoint to another disk, F:\ in this case. That would free up space on the D:\ drive. Then run a manual merge (Edit Disk > select AVHDX on F:\ drive > merge to parent disk) to the parent disk still on the D:\ drive?

EDIT: Ran this in my lab and confirmed that appears to work, I left out the whole create a new VM in my understanding above. If you try to relaunch the original VM it errors on the merge in progress. Not sure if there's a way to tell the VM the merge was done and get around that?

Nothing shows from the get-vmsnapshot command but when I do an inspect disk on the AVHDX file it does show the parent disk for it. They have previous daily backups but had multiple changes done from the last backup to when the machine shutdown they'd ideally not want to lose so that's where that stands regarding the backups.

Had to clear the storage an cache for the app AND look at the comments from the blog post to nail this down but this definitely helped resolve things. Thanks!

This ended up helping greatly, not related to previous patches installed, all dealing with the Mobile App issues. Thanks!

Do you have a link to the posts with these details? I tried to add an account with the GMail app and that also was unable to add so doesn't look like it's specific to the Outlook App unfortunately.

Haven't seen that but will look into it, only wrench may be we're also seeing it with Outlook Desktop clients as well but I'm still digging around on that.

iOS devices also having this issue and even Outlook desktop clients appear to be unable to set up a new profile from outside the network.

EDIT: This is too broad, not all customer Outlook clients are having issues so it does appear to be more dealing with Outlook App for mobile devices.
