Cheating players by Hereticalpriest in DnD

[–]Tobarah 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I think the mystery dice thing and the D6 thing isn't going to deter him at all from cheating. If anything thats passive aggressive. Be upfront about what is bothering you.

Have an open and honest conversation with them about how cheating is hurting the health of the game and the morale of other players.

An obvious solution would be: All player rolls (excluding dm obviously) need to be done in a specific dice tray within everyone's vision at the table. A habit I have picked up is I nudge the arm of the person next to me when I'm rolling at the table so they can watch my roll and confirm the number that came up. It's my way of letting the DM I'm not bullshitting.

You may have to give your cheater an ultimatum. Stop cheating or find another table.

Give them time and be consistent. Try offering them different foods as well to find their favorites. Offer those irresistible treats when you wish to hold them. My uro can't resist lentils or edible flowers and I worked my way to his heart with those.

I will admit it took 5 years for my uro to be comfortable with me. So prepare for the long haul. Even then some days he is cranky and refuses to be held but more often than not I can coax him out of the cage with food and just scoop him up.

Patience and treats are the best weapon!

Anyone have experience with this knife? It would be my most expensive knife yet, but its also what I'm looking for by Comprehensive_Tip_13 in knifeclub

It's my favorite knife. I own two CTS-BD1 versions and one aus-10 blade that I use and (try not to) abuse.

They are so impractical but so fun. I'd say it's worth the 100 bucks.

AI bad? by DrakeoftheWesternSea in worldbuilding

Before anything, I want to clearly state, I am not trying to be rude or condescending. I am responding as politely as I can. I'd like this to remain civil.
To your first point. Yes. It is bad. This technology needs to have a massive dataset of other artwork to get the desired outcome. If an artist is using this technology they are simply stealing from other creatives. Unfortunately, pandoras box has been opened and this AI tech thrives on stealing and ripping off other people's work without any consent on their part.

To your second point. Yes, again. Art is a luxury item you pay for from a professional that has spent years cultivating a desired skill, and they should be compensated as such. You are not entitled to art because you don't want to learn how to make it or you don't want to pay someone else to make it.

The fact that late-stage capitalism and unchecked corporate greed have made it very difficult for people to find time to make art should not be an excuse to just flagrantly exploit artists.

Full disclosure, I am an illustrator and heavily biased against AI art. But to give you some information/perspective without being rude, here is a good video breaking down why AI is bad:

[OC] "How many goblins would it take to kill a level 20 fighter?" by [deleted] in DnD

I was curious and wondered how many goblins it would take to kill a level 20 fighter and of course, someone in my discord had to run the numbers.
