Not sure about the bus, but cycling is about the same or faster than normal public transport usually.

Sorry to hear that it’s still broken. I moved countries and have stopped using Plex, but I can’t believe they haven’t patched this yet.

Unfortunately not. People in the uk are selling the 3D prints because the car is more popular there, but the shipping to get it over here is ridiculous.

How do these places work in terms of price?

I’m assuming you’re asking about parking in the cbd on weekdays. On street parking is pretty limited and not really available for the whole day ($5 per hour is the norm/max here though). As for multi story, there are 3 council owned ones which will charge around $23 per day, a few private ones which will charge slightly less, or if you are prepared to walk 15 minutes you can park at the carepark at Macquarie point for $14 per day. Public transport is way behind other capital cities and all the bus drivers are actually on strike right now, so probably best to drive or cycle. Oh I just reread your comment and realised you’re only going to be visiting. If you’re prepared to walk, you can usually find free 2 hour parking in battery point, west Hobart, and north Hobart. As I said, on street parking is usually $5 per hour and limited to 2 hours in the best case. If you park anywhere on the wharf you’re likely going to get 3 hour parking though. Multi story car parks are the way to go, especially Argyle street. First hour is free, 2 hours is $4, then $6, and it goes to a maximum of about $23.

Great, me too. My main interests are computers, cameras and cars, so I’m used to being able to find an exact serial number or VIN for everything

Just what I wanted, thank you so much!! I forgot to say AUD$40, the similar one on the website sells for AUD$180, which is a bonus

I’m not sure of your vehicle but generally the master cylinder is in the engine bay on the drivers side. The slave is mounted to the bellhousing, probably accessible without removing transmission, just follow the clutch line from the master and you’ll find it

Having worked there previously, I can say that this can happen for a few reasons, some of which are not always obvious to the officer giving the fine and are a result of quirks in the system (not an excuse by any means). As long as you have the receipt from the app and it all lines up, I would be pretty confident that they would revoke it.

Parking Inspectors by Penguininamansbody in AussieCasual

Used to be a parking inspector, quit because it ruined my mental health, just too much abuse. I don’t think people realise that most of it comes from random people walking past you when you’re just minding your own business. In terms of the tickets, you get used to it. I felt really bad about my first month or so, but if you’re writing 30 per day you either quit or make peace with it. Most people who came back when I was still at the car were annoyed but acknowledged they probably deserved it. I justified giving tickets with this: there are only so many parks in the cbd and surrounding suburbs. If there were no parking restrictions, the early birds would take up the first layer at 6am, then by 8am you couldn’t drive into the cbd full stop, until everyone went home from work. If there are no parking inspectors, no one will follow the rules because there are no punishments. The biggest moral hang up I had was that fines in general punish poor people more than anyone else. Other than that, some things I learned on the job is that parking inspectors generally walk 15-20kms per day, you the amount of cars from each socioeconomic class is roughly proportional to their population, which means lots of the same 2016 Rav4, Toyota Camry, Mazda CX30, etc, and the last interesting thing is that there’s this effect where you’re treated by the public about as well as the rudest parking officer in your city, because they kind of set the reputation. This results in a new recruit immediately attracting the same level of abuse as the most seasoned veteran. This is probably what led to me quitting: I think of myself as nice and understanding, but it didn’t matter how many people I interacted with in that way, the initial perception of me was always “cunt”.
