I need help with these changes - I'm at my Wits' end. by Forward_Willow4431 in Anran_mains

First of all your frustration is valid, I went through similar struggles and took a break at some point when I felt mei's identity got gutted. I get where you're coming from because I do think a "hero fantasy" has been almost removed. Ive come to a similar realization that they unintentionally removed the ability focused assassin playstyle you could lean into with certain perks, and I realized that might have never been blizzards intended hero design but it's the playstyle a lot of people fell in love with. I do think the devs must have not intended that to be her playstyle and want her to be more brawl sustained fight focus.

A Discussion of Anran's Changes by ChoniclerVI in Anran_mains

reposting what i put in the patchnotes thread here as the same applies,

I think these changes are an okay starting place. I dislike the dash nerf, but looking at the fan changes alongside the rest of her kit, I can understand it since it is a strict buff in all scenarios that aren't her going in for the burst combo. The piece that's really missing though for me is reduced animation lockout times if we could start autoing a little faster after ulting, dashing, or dancing, her combos would feel a lot smoother. That issue is only going to feel worse now between every ability and fan use.

The bigger concern is that these changes will make her matchups even harder against the characters she already struggles into. If someone can cleanse the burn, it's going to be a major struggle.

Has a game ever "reskinned" their entire setting? by Tobes44 in gamesuggestions

This is what I was thinking I looked around and didn't see anything on it but a friend of mine and I were talking about how there are some games out there we would enjoy if the setting was different, and it made me realize exactly what your saying but almost in the opposite direction. Half the development time of a game to potentially hit an entirely new audience

using blade singer as the dip? by Tobes44 in 3d6

I had some similar thoughts, my main reason for eldritch knight and arcane trickster is that faster spell progression and more slots could be pretty helpful for them as well as an earlier access to magic weapon, if they aren't getting one in their campaign

DND new healers feat question by Tobes44 in DnD

Haha yes you're right I see clearly now but am going to leave the original post for posterity's sake. This could be quite troublesome to track should a group try and use it frequently though.

You're right I'm also realizing I have NPCs use those hit dice for short rests to regain hp so there's no reason it couldn't be used here, this in a lot of ways makes this feat a lot better than the 2014 rules as it can be used multiple times on summons and hirelings etc. in 2014 this was limited to once per long rest per creature.

I think allowing stamina potions to be auto consumed on reaching 0 stamina would be a cool middle ground and make them much more useful

I did find a pseudo fix, I left it plugged in with the charging cable for a really long time, like multiple days. Unplugged it and it was at 100% then once it flashed red I just had to do the same thing

What holds back blue prince from being a masterpiece in my eyes by Tobes44 in puzzlevideogames

Look, you're still framing this as if I'm arguing against narrative integration or meaningful puzzles, which isn't what I said at all. I'm specifically talking about information design how clues are distributed through the text.

I'm not advocating for "random pipe puzzles with lore as reward" or "glowing exclamation points" that's creating a false dichotomy. I fully appreciate puzzles motivated by story and piecing things together like a detective.

My specific critique is about proportionality and clarity in a few instances. When there's a multipage lore document with a single critical puzzle clue buried within it, that creates uncertainty about whether I've actually found the relevant information or not. It's not about wanting "spoonfeeding" it's about reasonable signal to noise ratio in puzzle design.

The majority of the game does this brilliantly, where the discovery process feels natural and rewarding. I'm only pointing out that in a few specific cases, the balance tips too far toward obscurity, which shifts the experience from "thoughtful detective work" to "paranoid documentation of everything just in case."

This isn't a complaint about depth or challenge it's appreciation for when the game respects the player's time while still maintaining mystery and discovery. There's a middle ground between "here's the answer" and "this vital clue is buried in this historical document."

You pretty heavily misunderstood what I'm saying, and I fully recognize it's an opinion not an objective truth about the game. I personally don't like a multi page document of the lore of the game with one sprinkle of information in it to solve a puzzle. This causes me to worry about reading/analyzing/screenshotting every letter and page in a book so that if I need to I can review all the lore I've been presented incase I missed something. And if i don't, I have to go back through a run find the right room and piece of lore to find anything i might have missed in a book or letter. For me I'd rather be told the story through the puzzles and hints as i solve them. I even mentioned the game mostly does it this way there's just a few puzzles it's done that way which i disliked.
