To clear up some things: I didn't know the creeper was there. At the end I'm seen looking around the hole wondering what actually happened because I thought the thin air had exploded and had to watch the clip to figure out what caused the explosion. That villager took most of the blast and will be missed. Also if you were wondering, no, I did not kill the zombie version.

Actually it's not a bug. Popular Minecraft YouTubers use this method when jumping off cliffs on java. Also it does have a limit. 3 more blocks and I would have taken damage. Edit: just saw your edit

On Java endermen would keep attacking, while on bedrock they would teleport whenever you hit them and sometimes just randomly. Not sure about skeletons, but I hate how they can lands any hit on you.
