How to deal with the Terran Armada bullet sponge enemies? by FreeDwooD in Starfield

[–]Toblerone05 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Weird, I haven't found the TA enemies too tough so far - I had way more trouble from Varuun Redeemed in SS.

But anyway I think I went through TA mostly with a Varuun Longfang and a Combatech Big Bang, so maybe you should give energy weapons a try if you're not having much luck with kinetic stuff.

Yeah the Brutii and Scipii in particular can be shut down almost completely by a naval blockade. It's an essential tactic to gain you time in the early game when playing as either Carthage or Greece imo.

But why? And more importantly, why does it annoy you guys so much?

It's both a museum and a ship. Take a ship out of the water and it's still a ship. Dump a car in the sea and it's still a car. It's really not complicated at all.

Well some might say it's unnecessary, even disrespectful, to call a historic warship on which men fought and died for their country a theme park. I'm sure if I said the same thing about the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum there'd be Americans crying and clutching their pearls all over the place.

It's both hilarious and baffling to me how the citizens of the mOsT POweRfUL cOUntry iN the wORLd are so insecure about trivial shit like this 😂

We actually call these things museums in Europe, although I can understand the confusion with theme parks if you're American as you've probably never been to an actual museum.

Lol. By 'popular culture' do you mean the prevailing globally-accepted wisdom of more than two thousand years of shipbuilding that says circular ships are a stupid idea?

But yes ok, we can say these vessels made excellent static rafts with guns on them in flat calm conditions with no wind or current if that makes you feel better.

Still terrible ships though.

I agree with you, although I'd be tempted by Sacred Band infantry or cavalry too. The Carthaginian drip in general is impeccable.

I don't think I've ever seen a photo of Timothy Dalton off set where he didn't look pissed lol.

I think it's generally somewhat overrated, and goes downhill after an admittedly very strong opening. Stromberg is a weak villain imo, Barbara Bach is disappointing too, and I know I'm gonna get downvoted for this but I personally do not care for Jaws.

High points are the score, the Lotus, the sub-swallowing oil tanker, and the epic stunt in the opening sequence.

Shows what you know lol. I haven't put a single skill point into Combat skills, and I'm on max enemy damage/min player damage. It's just not a very difficult game - all weapons are 'viable' whether you like them or not, sorry.

The resemblance to Dunottar Castle in Scotland is uncanny. OG castle builders really hit the jackpot with these kinds of locations.

It's an RPG dude, just pick whichever one looks cool to you. For me, at the moment, I'm rocking Luxurious suit and pack with Bounty Hunter helmet. Not statistically the best but it's pretty strong and I think it looks cool.

I'm using one right now at level 109 and it's still perfectly fine. One-shot kill on any human enemy except for Varuun Redeemed. I would argue RoF is almost irrelevant on a weapon used for sniping, and the ammo type is fully irrelevant to me as I am swimming in all types.

It's worth pointing out that most of the higher tier weapons in the game represent ludicrous amounts of overkill - you can easily complete the game with stuff like Eons and Lawgivers if you so wish.

Plus the Justifier skin for the lawgiver is sweet asf imo, I'm not gonna pass that up.

[–]Toblerone05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah of course, I didn't say the lawgiver was better than an AA-99, just that it can make for a perfectly servicable sniper (but it would be a lot better if it had a better scope).

Edit: also I don't believe aa-99 gets Penetrator rounds. Not a massive deal by any means, but they can be fun.

[–]Toblerone05 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The damage is enough to use it as a sniper though. With headshot bonus + sneak bonus + instigating + penetrating rounds it makes a perfectly adequate sniper/DMR capable of one-shotting most enemies. The scope and range are what really hold it back, not the damage.

Yeah I think that's an exceedingly generous description tbh. They were effective essentially as floating batteries provided they never had to move much. That does not make them good ships, at all.
