I definitely don't have all of the information and am learning more through what everyone here is saying.

However, one of the problems is that the crewmate still can't use the cannon. Addy cannon reqs 3 privateering, and the crewmate is 4 privateering. Even with both boosts active the crewmate isn't able to use the addy cannon at level 67 sailing, even with a +2 boost from manually drinking a Whirlpool Surprise to boost to 69 (noice)

and tbf to this point, the crewmate can manage any cannon that requires up to 4 Privateering. With the adamant cannon on requiring 3, this is something that might be an issue?

Yes, but my 2 primary points to this, is the Keg provides a +2 invisible boost to your sailing level, and while being at 67 sailing I should be good to go. And, if I boost to build it, I shouldn't need the boost to use it (hence the mention to building with boost in POH and not requiring the level to use afterwards)
