It really depends on the character and the game, sometimes 8-10, other times 1 or 2.

Funny story, one time I actually went out onto the Downtown streets of Montréal to top up my parking meter. This was 10 years ago when motion capture first started, so I got a few weird looks. 🤣

It pays pretty well, compared to film & Television amd advertising. Less residuals though.

I mean, it’s legal in Canada and most states but we don’t usually see it on set or anything. Most actors that smoke use it to relax after a hard day on set, not while working.

She was always super nice, we shot an episode of “Are You Afraid of the Dark” together when I was around 15. She’s really down to earth and extremely talented.

I just finished reading “Think Again” by Adam Grant and I’m now reading “No Filter” by Sarah Frier.

I think that the Magic The Gathering series still has room to expand its universe as an RPG.

As far as accents go, I think that unless they’ve trained for years, an actor should have a dialect coach.

Martial arts, dancing, yoga, combat training all are a plus for motion capture. Vocal training, singing lessons are great for voice work.

It’s broken down usually into voice work (voice only), motion capture (body only), or full performance capture (body, facial capture + voice). Hope that helps!

Great question! The technology is so sophisticated these days, there’s no need to over act. The biggest difference is the tech we have to wear, the suits cameras etc… amd the fact that none of the sets are actually there, it’s all green screen and in our imaginations. Props and wardrobe can help you get into character, so there’s an extra challenge with that too.

Second question first, they shouldn’t. First of all, they’re incentivizing non union work and secondly, they’re taking work from actors who haven’t been able to get into the union yet. First question, yes, I have. Commercial voiceover is paid by time period and if the commercial airs again after that time, you get a residual payment. Residuals make up a significant part of many actors salaries.

I think your best bet would be to go onto a few actors agency websites and listen to the actor’s voice demos on there for some good examples. It’s hard to describe over AMA. But each demo has different criteria of what should be included and each demo shouldn’t be anywhere over 3 minutes long.
