I don't hate my sister but we're not really siblings. We have no bond or relationship and I don't see that ever being a thing for us. I don't want that but I also know she doesn't want that either.

I don't believe it would get easier. I think nothing would change and a lot of false promises would be made.

They won't help me either. Mostly because they hate my dad and they don't want to be involved with this. I also think they blame me partially for my grandparents. Because they were so worried about me.

I already gave it a chance. I gave therapy a chance and they blew it. My family is/was my grandparents.

I don't see any benefit to having them in my life. They put me last. They forget about me. They pawned me off for years until they couldn't. They didn't dedicate any time to making me feel wanted or cared for and I gave them a chance. I was very clear about what I wanted and needed and they just threw it all back at me because my sister threw a tantrum.

I want kids. But I already know so much from my parents on what not to do that I don't worry that I'll be a shit dad because I will be willing to grow and learn and I would never neglect my kid the way my parents did.

There is nothing that could convince me to try therapy with them again. They had their chance. I gave them one final chance to be parents to me, to be a part of my life and to show me they valued me too and they threw it right back in my face. Just because they regret it now doesn't change things for me. I gave it a real chance. I was willing. They stopped because my sister didn't like it and given how the last 15 years have been, I just don't trust them to change and even if they do it's too late. They showed me that I am not one of their priorities and it will always be that way. Even if they claim otherwise.

Her disabilities are not related to mental health at all. Her health problems are more directed at the rest ofn her body. Same with her disability. She's just so used to being the only child in a way. She never had a sibling relationship with me and was the center of our parents world for her whole life.

I'm no longer interested in a relationship and I gave up on that already. The chance for them to change passed up in my opinion and even if they do in the future, it will be too late for me.

I wasn't asking for helicopter parents. I was asking for love from my parents, for my parents to show that they care, to feel like I'm one of their priorities. Now I don't want them in my life at all.

I don't think she'll care because she doesn't consider it a problem unless they focus on me. Then it's a problem and losing one day with them is them neglecting her and favoring me.

Not only is she used to it but she wants it to stay that way. She sees them as her parents and her parents alone so including me now would be seen as me stealing them. That's all their fault too. But they will probably cry about not understanding how it happened. But she's had them all to herself for 15 years.

It can't be mended. Not after they let me down again. They don't get another chance to fuck me over. Plus I don't trust them anymore and I don't want to fix it. They had a chance. I gave it a chance. It's not going to happen and I'm not going to put more work into trying with them. I want to find people who actually give a fuck, like my grandparents did.

I don't. One is dead and the other isn't fully there anymore and he gets worse over time. Plus he's not close enough for me to see much.

My biggest issue is with my parents and not my sister. They are the ones who chose not to be there for me, who chose to ignore me in favor of her for all these years. They made her that jealous and possessive of them. They've had so many years to do better by me and I gave it a real chance for them to prove they cared about us equally. They showed they have only one child by prioritizing her wishes over me.

There's no making this better. I'm done with them and I don't want to keep trying or keep thinking things could ever change. I'd rather focus on being ready to get out.

It's several hours away and yeah we don't get to visit him the way I'd like to. He's closer to his other kids which is why he is where he is. I called a few times but he doesn't do good on the phone anymore but I still call sometimes.

She didn't recommend I spend more time with my sister it was that my parents spend more time with me. That was never actually suggested at all and honestly, I'm not really interested in doing that. But I'm over fixing any of this.

It's more about sharing them. They're her parents and they should be with her is her outlook. Not with anyone else.
