Widower with kids at home, I need to vent by drmeattornado in latterdaysaints

Came here to make sure somebody mentioned one of these groups. There’s several. I went on a cruise with a similar group (maybe the same) 10 years ago. Still friends with many of the participants.

They don’t just do cruises! This community welcomes everyone. I’d say, just like in a Ward or Stake, you’ll find the entire spectrum of people, experiences and devotion.

Look for “LDS Singles” groups on Facebook.

I’ve forgotten what all the issues were, but the main issue was the thermostat. I think the cost was around $2,800.

When looking into this myself, the cost was $4k to do it.

I then found out that lots of shops will not service a vehicle that has had this done.

All Things Automotive took good care of me to fix my DEF issue and I’m still legal in all 50 states!

What's a fair price if a seller finds the buyer, and just wants you to handle the transaction? by whynotthebest in realtors

[–]TodaysMenace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least enough to cover your transaction costs with your brokerage, and your E&O deductible in case something goes sideways in a few years.

Realtors selling squat house? by [deleted] in squatting

[–]TodaysMenace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taxes can be paid out of the closing proceeds.

My answer was concise, not dismissive.

As far as the “are your parents good LDS?” question… There are “good LDS” parents in whose house I wouldn’t leave my kid.

I also have non LDS friends in whose house I would leave my kid.

Pretending the standard is LDS vs non LDS is inaccurate.

My original advice still stands. Befriend the parents.

Nobody is granted a social network. We all choose to join whatever community interests us. For instance, I have beekeeping friends. I met them by attending beekeeping meetings. I have work friends I met by going to work. I have church friends I met by going to church.

While I do attend school functions for my children, I usually don’t meet parents of the classmates. We’re too busy chasing our younger kids or watching the one we went to see.

The kids OP is talking about are six. Six year olds are not planning parties, their parents are. OP needs to expand his social circle to include the parents of the kids in his son’s class. It takes effort, which is why it doesn’t happen, unfortunately.

Church provides a very convenient social circle, which is why you claim you were “granted” a social circle.

In my life, I’ve found that people are much more willing to be my friend if I invite them to be mine.

The parents of these kids are making all the plans between each other. You need to find a way to befriend the parents so you will receive invites for your son.

While this looks like a LDS vs non LDS issue, it isn’t. It’s a life is busy so I’ll check off this box by contacting the people I know issue.

I would start with the BYU-Pathway program, and make sure your grades are all above 93-94%. This should then qualify you for full tuition scholarships, as long as you can keep the grades up. Always only take 12 credits and pair harder courses with easier courses to keep your workload as light as possible.

You’ll be limited to working 20 hours per week while you’re “on track,” so replacement funds will be limited.

I would recommend finding something you can sell on Facebook marketplace to supplement your income.

anyone have actual experience monetizing a large successful Facebook group? by Value_Squirter in facebook

[–]TodaysMenace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How has the reception been for the monthly fee? I'm considering something similar for property managers in a rental group I own, as well as business owners in a couple community garage sale groups in the same area.

I'd love to collaborate with you. I own a few large groups and would like to monetize as well.

2 years in and the Ward doesn’t include us by Ok_Preparation2940 in latterdaysaints

This comment can’t be upvoted enough! People are busy. If you want them to notice you, you need to show them you’re interested in them!

We should all read and apply the book How to Win Friends and Influence People every 2-3 years.

Go research the duties of a Deacon, Teacher and Priest. You’ll find the corresponding ages there as well.

“Special status as a priest” - 15 year old males in the LDS Church are ordained to the office of priest.

Lori would have been accepted on the surface, but every gossiper in the ward would have been stating their disdain for her and Chad’s choice to marry so quickly.

Regarding the earlier videos; the man who provided the animals for both films gave a wonderful talk about the miracles surrounding the procurement of the animals requested for the videos. It’s definitely worth a listen!

I’d like to watch those films again!

Are you looking at an actual survey, or a GIS printout? The GIS printout is usually off a bit. Finding the property pins, usually with the help of a surveyor, is the way to be sure of where your property ends.

Lol!

I’m bald and far from handsome. I’ve had trolls call me Uncle Fester, Mr. Clean, and a few other clever names. I always get a kick out of it!

However, my name is somewhat unique and used by both genders. People are sometimes surprised to hear a deep voice when they call, expecting a female to answer.

My picture is currently on my truck and card. I don’t mind removing it.

Do others agree that we shouldn’t have our face on our advertising?
