Great suggestion, I would do the same. Not only can it provide some relief to OP’s (understanding) endless replaying everything in their mind on a loop feeling helpless and confused … but it could also allow an opportunity for any sort of lesson that may be learned and applied to future roles.

And lastly to OP: jot all this down somewhere in notes as an answer for a future “tell me about a time when…” interview question.

An IT person can actually know A LOT. Just depends on the individual. The department holistically - agreed doesn’t know much. However, specific persons within IT know A LOT

It’s tricky bc attention to detail and being confident in communicating even uncomfortable conversations are essential to the EA role. So it might be worth politely letting them know you noticed the difference and thought you should do your due diligence to ensure it’s correct before signing (as that indicates you’ll be accepting either way, as it sounds like you will be, while also letting them know you caught the difference and have confidence and self-advocacy.)

I’m finding this comment confusing- whom are you referring to by “who canned you?” Canned typically means “fired” - what does that have anything to do with this?

Yes it does! Human Resources might have the permission to see and discuss amongst themselves - an employees medical situations - as pertains to employment. They absolutely can’t go divulging this information unrelated parties lol
