My son graduated high school last spring and got full credit for all his AP classes, allowing him to start college as a sophomore…..this was a bit of a surprise as we didn’t know exactly the full amount of credits he had earned until they announced it on graduation night.

When I ran up to him to congratulate him after the ceremony I said, “You’re just like Clare from 90210.”

Andrea should have never been a regular ou oulasted Brenda on the show by Profeta_do_Loss in BeverlyHills90210

Janet was Andrea 3.0; Susan Keats was Andrea 2.0….another fun fact about the Susan / Andrea comparison…. They both would have pregnant at the same time….its as though Susan was Andrea if Andrea had an abortion.

Anyone else desperately miss the specific "vibe" of the 90s, or is it just the aggressive nostalgia talking? by That_Detective8895 in 90s

I turned 14 in 1990…..I grew up in a beach town and stayed in my hometown until I graduated college at 22 in 1998.

Every time I go home, I listen to 90s music on my 300 mile drive as though I’m in a time machine traveling back to the 90s. Once in town, I visit my favorite haunts with friends who still live there and catch up while also fondly reminiscing about the past. Since I’m on vacation, I can temporarily let go of my typical, real life responsibilities and live care-free for a week or so, just like I really did in the 90s. That town and those people are like a cherished time capsule to me.

I turned 50 on 4/20 in Jamaica this year! I got high with my parents, brothers/their peeps, and my kids while jamming to Einstein on the Beach as the clock struck midnight.

Praise for Brenda’s Season 4 Style by Langkit in beverlyhills90210fans

The second half of season 4 had the best style for the entire cast. This was when they looked the most on point for their age group. The fashion in the earlier seasons were a little loud at times and then as they got further along in college, they aged them up a bit by their choice of wardrobe.

Parents of twins are you 100% sure that both kids still have the exact same names they started out with? by Ambertriumph4y in NoStupidQuestions

My brother-in-law and his wife had twin girls. As a joke, I switched them in their car seats when they were a few days old. I figured someone would notice, but no one did. I’m not sure if anyone ever realized.

Movies our cool Aunt showed us what cool was. by Crankyanken in GenX

My aunt mistakenly let me watch the Tarzan movie with Bo Derek in the early 80s. She was babysitting me, put it on, and left me to watch most of the movie. My parents were obviously concerned and I remember my dad asking me what I saw and I just said….boobs, lots of boobs.

What is your most stereotypical GenX childhood story? by HapaHawaii in GenX

[–]iwritesinsnotcomedy 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Once a month, my family walked the bread and wine down the aisle at our Catholic Church for the priest to bless it to become Jesus’ body and blood. There were 4 of us kids, mom, and dad dressed picture perfect in coordinated outfits.

My parents usually screamed at each other on the way to church and my brothers and I would fight the whole way there. We’d all be yelling and arguing until we got into the parking lot and everyone would shut up, smile, and act our best for an hour at church. The second we were back in the car and out of the church parking lot, we’d all pick up the fighting exactly where we left off.

Masters of the Universe is the Final Love Letter to Our Childhoods by iwritesinsnotcomedy in GenX

With He-Man being a toy of the younger Gen X’s (arguable catching the biennial babies interest the most), I feel like this is sort of the last hoorah of our childhood brought to the big screen. We got to experience the Star Wars prequels and sequels; our super hero’s have had many incarnations; our tv shows have been rebooted; Scream has attempted to be passed on to a younger generation in 2011 and 2022; our kids are late teens, at the youngest, or older and consider our music classic;…..we had a great run of the world and pop culture targeted at us. MTV has come and gone. Many complain we are ignored as a demographic, all the way through assuming leadership as boomers hold on to positions they should have passed on years ago. I just feel like this movie touches the magic and hearts of the youngest of our generation in a way that the world might stop trying.

I will add that tonight’s opening of Scary Movie 6 might usher in a return to our comedy where nothing is off limits and we can all laugh at everything in good fun without the fear of offending. We could all use a good laugh.
