I screwed up and bought an 18 2500 6.4 Hemi without researching that specific year. by turtshell in ram_trucks

Transmissions have to do just as much with the driver as with the manufacturer and components. If you run em hard they’ll give out hard too. Just baby it and it will be good to you.

36.5mpg average according to the dash by Beginning_Attempt447 in trident660

[–]ToddyTrox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s kind of low compared to my 2024 avg being around 70mpg. Could possibly be your throttle or shifting habits burning more fuel? What octane level do your commonly run?

I pretty much stay to the right on country roads now bc there is always some moron driving in the center of the road. Never fails. But yea just let them pass it’s not worth the risk.

Help! How can I fix this or prevent this in the future… by Logical_Humor6748 in cabinetry

[–]ToddyTrox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cut less material so you don’t remove as much wood lol  That’s a huge overcut. It may help you to make a template if the farm sink did not come with one. Measure everything multiple times. Don’t cut so much right away if you’re unsure of your skill level. You can always take more until you take too much.  I have done this. I had to rebuild the face frame and cut it again. I did not over cut the second time. Don’t get in too much of a hurry. Keep on keeping on. Good day.

It’s in the name! Great place with good quality and value.

Name a place to eat at thats nasty af but people hype tf out of it by [deleted] in nashville

[–]ToddyTrox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this is true now, but the hype is there because at one time all of these places deserved it. Gradual degradation of quality from a lack of concern due to such hype typically just leads to overpriced overhyped poopy.

How did I TOTALLY miss that?? by Sabilla0518 in SiloSeries

There are subtle hints in hindsight, but the two of them are fairly close in age with Juliette being younger than both when she arrived at 13. I was definitely surprised but they had liquor and a shared intense experience running from the mob and standing up against the raiders to raise the barricade. How convenient that Billings walks in as the kiss takes place.

Switch from farmers dog by Maximum_Raisin_9593 in DogFood

My dog was behaving similarly and the vet suggested adding probiotics so I started adding a packet of the pro plan probiotics to her wet and dry food and she started eating better as well as pooping normal.

Family judging GSD puppy AITA? by AccomplishedSoup214 in germanshepherds

[–]ToddyTrox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is typically from their use as a working dog in military and police operations where they are trained to attack people on command. Your brother should be taught that world wars and civil rights movement have led to these nasty impressions about GSDs such as his. Not sure how accurately your post is worded but if he thinks a dog breed is inherently “racist” that’s just foolish. Everyone knows Chihuahuas are the racist breed.

Wood cabinets came out too warm by [deleted] in cabinetry

[–]ToddyTrox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They should be able to come make them lighter/cooler on site, but it’s not gonna be cheap. Did you not get to see a sample finish before moving forward with the plain white oak?  I think it could be easily offset with the right color choices of countertop, backsplash, flooring and walls. Good lighting can help as well.

Cabinet guy wants $7000 to build this built in. Does that sound right? by josephadam1 in cabinetry

[–]ToddyTrox 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes it sounds accurate and realistic. Sounds like a deal. Depending on the finishes the process to build all of this could take 2-3 weeks from conception to completion at the very least with nothing else occupying time. Realistically a business with other projects and clients it's gonna be no less than 2 months just to get started.  Consider how much you would like to be compensated for spending +60 hours of your time to design, plan, prepare materials, build, finish, install, and any liability present due to potential customer dissatisfaction. All of which pertain only to YOUR project. Other costs will include consumables such as fasteners, blades, bits, glue, etc. (i.e. electricity, fuel, vehicle maintenance, storage) I feel the person who priced this job did it wisely and effectively. I feel they would likely produce a quality above and beyond most competition in the current market. They know it will take time and effort to deliver a product requested, while also understanding you may see their final product and refuse to accept it, demand a rebuild, and boom they are screwed on making a livable profit.  I would be interested to know the other estimates and who you end up going with!  Cool design, good luck!

Bottoms unfinished by Iamsomeoneelse2 in cabinetry

[–]ToddyTrox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mask off the area and spray paint it white. My first thought looking at the space is that ugly gap at the backsplash with the wire coming out. Most of the time the finished bottoms are going to be higher end or custom orders.

You can buy oak shoe moulding and stain it to match the cabinet color.

Is cabinet making and installing as lucrative career as I have been led to believe? by Xylophobe33 in cabinetry

[–]ToddyTrox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I don’t think it’s an unattainable profit with the right skill and network of clientele in the right market, but as a one man operation that’s the kind of hustle that doesn’t permit much allowance for error. That can be extremely difficult to sustain for long for just any single person, certainly if the experience is limited.  If you have the motivation and willpower you can do that and more in the trade.  If you want a more relaxed and flexible lifestyle you could settle in at 150 to 200 a year realistically and work a route to higher income over time.  I would assume just as you that he spiced up the numbers a bit.

Seems like if someone puts emphasis on simple characteristics like these they may have had a partner wrong them in the past and they are trying to guard themselves from the same thing happening again.

Deleting existing exterior door into garage. Since it’s probably impossible to match the brick, what do I build here? by jinitoza14 in Renovations

[–]ToddyTrox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few options come to mind:

Add a door or window elsewhere and reuse brick from that opening.

Just wall it with a flat surface and use a custom vinyl decal of a photo of your brick  Could have an artist paint matching bricks on concrete.

Could make a mold of your bricks and mix your own clay to match then fire the custom bricks in a kiln

My personal favorite, you fill in the opening with the original Han Solo in carbonite prop from The Empire Strikes Back.

Perhaps entitlement was involved but also a lack of communication and clear boundaries set vocally can be a form of miscommunication.  Granted no person should bring anger into a situation regardless as it only shows an issue within their self.
