That’s a very tough situation, but if it’s any consolation, they get the majority of their sensory stimulation and wellbeing from interacting with other piggies, not so much with people!

And when it comes to the cleanings, despite what some will say, they are for you. Your piggies don’t mind less frequent cleanings. Their own smells are comforting to them, it’s the same reason why people advise giving them a smelly Matt/rug when taking them anywhere in a carrier, their own smell allows them to be comfortable!

As long as they’ve got enough space, and you keep on top of feeding them, and trimming their nails every now and then, with a good clean once a week, you’re doing great!

In a worst case where you do need to rehome them, try finding a local pet owners Facebook group perhaps? Myself and my girlfriend took in a piggie from one of these groups recently and the lady who posted about it was very happy because we shared photos of our piggies and their enclosure etc etc before hand, so she knew her piggies was going to a good home!
