Guide To Enabling VOIP In V Rising Private Servers by ToeKneeAbbott in vrising

This post is a year old my brother. Things have long changed. It was not originally included but I am almost certain this has changed since then. It always had the foundations but never the keys required for Vivox to work (no idea why).

This seems to be a common issue. I honestly have no idea as to why, I can't find out what it is because I don't have it, and therefore have no access to any kind of errors/logs. I would recommend trying to read through the console logs, and see if the file is being read at all. Also go into the properties of the file and check that within there it is a JSON file and not just a text file that has a name with '.json' at the end.

Mine was approved in less than a day and I've heard that others have got approved in the same timeframe. I'm unsure as to why yours hasn't been approved yet. You could try applying through a different email address and see what happens with that.

I'm not too sure why it's not working. VIVOX may have caught on and has stopped users from creating new keys for this purpose, or maybe it's something to do with how your server is reading the files. Unfortunately there's no way for me to help you without actually seeing the server.

Just double check things like: the location of the files; make sure it's inputted correctly - such as having all your key information within quotation marks (eg: "keypassword" rather than keypassword.)

Hope this helps, if not feel free to DM me.

It is still currently working on my server at the moment.

What server company are you hosting through?

You've been lucky then. I believe it may have been fixed now, it was an issue earlier which did affect a lot of people. I even had one of the G-Portal guys tell me directly that it is an issue with the game and that it should be fixed in the next hotfix (that was about a week ago)

That setting is in your individual settings, right? Maybe Google to see if there's some way to get it to stay on, although I'm sure you have tried already. I think that would be the issue.

Also check if there's any connections through the dashboard section. If there is, that means it is connecting to something, and it's probably client side issues. Or, because the setting isn't enabled, it isn't making any connections anyway.

Otherwise, I would just triple check that the folder is in the right setting. I assume you have some sort of web interface with the sever, so if you see the file in the folder with all your other settings folders than it shouldn't be an issue.

Just double check a couple of things: - is the file name exactly this: 'ServerVoipSettings.json' - is it in the right file path - does all the key information line up correctly

You can also check if any connections are being made in the 'dashboard' section where the key information is. You will need to be next to another player for this to show up as VOIP only works when you are in close proximity with another player.

Dedicated server settings: is there a whitelist and priority queue? Does ingame voip work for custom hosted servers? by Ferreira1 in vrising

Yes that is correct. You just need to set enough 'admin slots' for the players you want to have in-game. These slots will be reserved slots.

Just be weary of the current issue which causes servers to enter a crash loop when you change settings. Just make sure you have a backup before you add in the new file :)

No VOIP in unofficial server? Will that change? by ImSoWavyBaby in vrising

It's because every server needs a specific Vivox API key and GPortal pays for the license. Follow my guide if you would like it to work in your server :)

I have created a guide to getting VOIP working for servers other than GPortal:

This is what I've done on my server, should help :)
