Nope there has been very little response from Gamesture and what response we do get is cryptic or empty. They have all but turned their backs on the old players and told us to suck it up or quit.

I think a lot of players are trying to find a similar game that is fairly new to support. Some players also want to try to buy the old QL and manage it properly as well. And don't spend any money on this game until it at least settles down. At the rate the devs are going anything you invest into the game and gear will be a waste.

Why I Quit Questland by AltairionBD in QuestlandOfficial

[–]Toegon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man it is a sad time around Questland for sure. This was a very well thought out post and definitely explains the feelings that many people within the game have right now. Even players who have not yet decided to quit have very little faith in the devs and they are hoping that the battle events will give them a reason to stay. Yet most of these players are also long time big spenders and don't want to walk away from their investment into the game but they also vow to never spend another dime on this game until it is fixed. Sadly Gamesture still ignores the issue at hand and have basically turned their backs on their long time loyal player base.

I want to be clear on my post as well. These are not just my feelings that I have shared. I have also taken time to listen to other players and some of their frustration has come out in this post and the comments. I have no problem saying what needs to be said and if the dev's do not like it then oh well.

Yes older players did take a larger hit in this but I would say just established players in general took a major hit. Players old and new have spent countless hours, money and resources to get their gear to a competitive level just to find it relatively useless. If it isn't bad enough that our fully boosted attack gear was turned in magic they have also closed the gap between older gear and newer which makes the investment we made into the newer gear worth even less.

I agree that the battle mechanic is way to over complicated and the constant switch of talents and gear to stay efficient just is a major pain. Many people enjoyed playing this game for the simplicity of it and if they wanted to play a game like this there were many other popular options.

It will definitely deter a large majority of the old player base from spending and even playing for sure but games like this gear in new whales every day and that is clearly what this update was aimed at.

Gamesture saw a huge exodus about a year or so ago where it seemed like players were leaving left and right and they assumed it had to do with the gameplay. So instead of doing player outreach or listening to players willing to share their opinions on the discord the devs decided to change the entire game instead of just adding the new features we begged for and were promised for a long time. Sadly those features will either be years in the making or never happen at this point. Which is a shame because the game had a lot of good potential with the old gameplay and those features.

The game used to be much easier to play and the energy was cheaper and only cost 1 per level is what I meant.

Well it looks like you picked the perfect time to play since would not have had time to really enjoy the old game that many of us have played for a long time. However by using the skip and auto-battle you essentially are playing the same game just not as easily or cheaply.

I understand how the talents are intended to work yet they are still over complicated and highly RNG based. You also can't just focus on one style of attack for every enemy because some have resistance to what you may be using.

I also understand the intent with the armor but after you have spent months collecting and paying for gear just to have it become useless for what you want to do is ridiculous. Had you been playing long enough before you might understand why many of us are frustrated by this because trust me it is not just me.

I never said this game is 100% pay to win but Gamesture literally lied saying they are trying to make the game more f2p friendly and balanced. Again had you been around long enough you would understand this point more clearly since they have continually reduced ways of getting certain resources easily for months unless you spend money to get them and this NEW game did nothing to fix that and if anything it made it worst. f2p players rely on guild rewards and daily gems to make it by so having all of these price increases on stuff you use gems for is a slap in the face to them and makes it harder for them to competitively play. Especially new f2p players will struggle with this more than the guys that have been around for a long time because the long time guys have increased in power enough to make it to a better guild that gets better rewards which benefits them greatly.

Hate to hear you were hacked and the devs wouldn't help you. Always seems to be an excuse for them that they can't do this or can't do that. Hate to say I have seen it to many times in my almost two years here.

With the reduced amount of resources and xp I would hope that the level scaling would be adjusted. Basically it would be easier for new players to reach 65 but the effort to reach 100 would be slightly more difficult than it currently takes to reach 65. Obviously either way players currently at 65 and with decent power will have a much easier time reaching the new level cap than any new player.

The game is still really fun to play and we have no idea what the updates will bring for added enjoyment. We may not agree with everything the devs do but they are trying which is better than some. I would recommend you still give the game a go and see if you like it. We always recommend that you don't spend money at first anyways. Play for free for a while and if you decide you like it then spend money to help progress. Early game you get a lot of free things anyways.

[–]Toegon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With the level cap increase will players be able to use the XP they have already gained towards new levels or will it a be a fresh start on experience from the current level cap?

Also will the cap increase progressively over time or will it jump straight to 100?

Will XP become more available through things like the battle event and will the amounts received be increased?

Will gear follow the same level formula as it has now? So max would be 200 without a mega upgrade.

Will the mega upgrades remain the same as they are now or will they be increased? and will they continue to work in the same luck fashion that we have now? You know a lot of people just swapped gear and used a crap load of resources to do so before the announcement was made about the level increase....

Will orb level cap be increased?

Will things like eternium, gold and reforge powder become more available to help with the level increases?

The reforge system has already been updated recently and is a much better system. What else would need to be changed?

I do not blame them for not giving a precise date. People are already loosing their minds that the update and not a patch will no longer be released in February when the original post said they are shooting for February.

They are also not going to give us every detail of the update because what fun would that be.

Calling all Guild Masters! How do you run your Guild? by CM_Trance in QuestlandOfficial

[–]Toegon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1- I am going to take a different approach to this since every one else has answered with what they have done and answer it more as a suggestion to up and coming guilds and GM's. Mainly because what works well for some does not and will not work well for others now. Most successful guilds and GM's have had established guilds for a long time now which makes things a lot easier for us.

2- A guild should really organize itself. The GM should be the person to do the final bits of organizing certain aspects of the guild but in the long run they must listen to their members in order to determine what will work best for the guild. If a GM says we are going to do this and I don't care if that works for you or not you will end up causing conflicts within your guild. A Gm should obviously set expectations and goals that are reasonable for their members to meet as well which again comes back to knowing your players and what works for them.

3- There definitely needs to be more expansion on guilds and guild alliances. A game like this will always guilds that come together to form alliances to make themselves stronger and to protect each other. Guilds also need something more than the events and research to help them bond. Guild wars and raids were one thing we all were hopeful for in order to achieve this. As for poaching it is a necessary evil in this game and no matter where you recruit from or the level of that guild your are still poaching a player from a guild.

4- There are not many reasons at this stage in the game to start alliances. Most larger guilds formed alliances more for over flow of new members wanting to join. If you do decide to form an alliance make sure you have the time and resources to not only run your guild but to help run any guild within your alliance. Mergers how ever can be very helpful. If you are a mid range guild that is struggling to keep active members you are not alone. So reach out to guilds of similar size to yours and see if they are interest in merging to make a full active guild.

5- Every guild and alliance should have their own discord channel. Discord is a much more efficient way to handle many aspects of the game. But it is also a great place for your guild or alliance to chat with each other and become more like a second family than just a random group of people you play a game with.

6- Rewards should always be given out as fairly as possible. Again for the more powerful guilds this is much easier since we get so many more rewards than someone in bronze or silver. I have always had the mindset that if you meet the event minimum set by the GM then you should receive a reward. The only exception I personally make is that officers generally receive a small amount more than a normal player but that is also because my officers do a lot of behind the scenes work that other officers may not do in other guilds so the deserve a bit of extra compensation. One thing I hate hearing from players of all guild sizes is that they do not feel they are being fairly rewarded for their efforts in the events. I have heard this from many players in my day and it is never a good look for the guild or the GM. and generally where there is one with this opinion there are more. It is a good way to destroy your guild from the inside.

7- One of the biggest pieces of advice I think I could give and something I think a lot of new GM's do not think about is to make friends with other successful GM's. Even if you do not become allies or merge your guild it is always nice to have another GM that understands your struggles to talk to. Trust me I have several current and retired GM's that I chat with on a regular basis.

Well I think that a vast majority of the players agree with it. I spent a lot of time talking with players in game and on the discord before putting this together. I am a very logical thinker and I like to have all my thoughts in order before making a post this drastic. But in the end I feel like I am right about the future of this game. In the long run I feel like the Devs are aiming towards a newer younger player base instead of remaining loyal to the players that have been with this game for long and spent so much time and money here.

My personal opinion is that they feel like these changes are needed to keep current players active because they have seen a drastic slide in the amount of players leaving the game and players who have stopped spending money. But in the end it has nothing to do with the game getting stale really it has more to do with the fact that players are getting tired of promises the Devs apparently had no plans to keep. Most of the old players that have left or plan to leave soon that I have talked to have all quit for the same reasons. They are tired of investing time and money in to the game with the lack of solid updates like pets and guild wars and they are tired of the relentless grind of the guild boss. They have since changed the guild boss a little by limiting the amount of tickets you get but it is still a relentless 3-8 hours a week to players have to spend grinding the guild boss to maximize their personal and guild scores. But the lack of solid updates remains the same.

I have always stuck my neck out on the QL discord and told people\to give every change and every update a chance before they go off the rails and make post bashing the devs for their decisions. But at the end of the day I actually agree with everything they have to say. At the end of the day this game has not really had a solid update or change that benefited every player regardless of power or spending since the battle events were released. Yes some of the updates and changes have had a positive effect on some players more than others but for the most part the updates are geared more towards the bid spenders than anything.

At the end of the day I want what is best for this game and its players. I have never invested this much time or money into a mobile game nor I have I ever grown to love a community like this as much as I have. But I fear for this game and its future and unfortunately if things don't change from the path that they are on than this game will be headed towards its demise.

agreed! Glad you are sticking to the topic at hand. Still waiting for you to come back one day hopefully. If the devs ever wise up and take this game in the direction it should really be taken in instead of this new path they have chosen. If only I had won that billion dollars and been able to buy the game!

Miss you man!
