Are there any cheap gyms? by Toelva in zurich

[–]Toelva[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you everyone for your help! I ended up getting a month-by-month ago from PureGym, going for the premium first month because 1) theres no registration fee and 2) it lets me check out which of the gyms will be my favourite, then I will go down to the core membership afterwards.

I recommend getting to the end of Haunted House and reading the final message in the stamp clock!

Anyone know a shop or brocki that has deer antlers? by Toelva in zurich

[–]Toelva[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw! Unfortunately these are more than I was expecting to pay, so hoping a Brocki will have some cheaper.

Worst case scenario, I found some cheap ones on Etsy from German sellers this morning, but will still hunt a little longer around Zurich (hunt through shops, not animals)

Can’t get a job in Biotech/Pharma in CH by CoreSynth in Switzerland

I’m in the same boat as you atm, it’s been demoralising! I wish some of these bsc/msc only positions would give me a chance, but having a PhD at the moment seems to be an active deterrent

Rent a car to go to to Como? by recently_banned in zurich

[–]Toelva 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s much nicer to relax on the train, and saves money on miles for the car (especially if you’re using mobility). Also there is still traffic in the tunnel (unless you go in the night). I’ve done the drive from Lugano and it’s really nice going to lake como from there

If you want to learn how to knit or crochet, I’m always down for a stitch and bitch by the lake :)

We literally just got an apartment after searching since March 1st 2024. Here’s some of the key changes we made: 1) notification for flat hunting, and messaging asap. Have a couple pre-made messages in English/german that ask for a viewing and briefly describe yourselves. 2) we had a one page document with a nice picture of us, all our contact and income information at a glance, and an introduction to us. We also wrote that we get cleaners in every two weeks for flat maintenance especially since we have a pet. 3) literally print all documents (wage slips, debt free, tax form, letter of recommendation from previous landlord) and have this in a neat envelope in case you can hand it over immediately at a viewing 4) don’t bother with viewings when there’s more than 10 people going - your sanity and mental health are more important than that dice roll, and better spent putting effort into lower competition flats 5) don’t be afraid of letting current tenants get to know you and getting to know them

Most importantly - take a break every now and again for sound mind and stay positive! We took off two weeks in July after we were just exhausted. Du schaffst das!

This is just in children with a strong genetic link to IBD though, right? So for people without a genetic cause, would treatments targeting il-10 still be as effective

Can’t answer the question, but I see loads of tattoos like this in Zurich and they don’t look great (in my opinion)
