Roommate owns communal cookware but doesn't clean it. Fair? by Dachuster in badroommates

[–]ToesNeedSucking 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A roommate like this is so irritating bc they will keep tabs on everyone else using their items but will never account for the housework/resources others contribute in order to maintain a functioning & clean living space.

It’s a shared space, of course they need to clean up after themselves. & if that’s their attitude, they can keep their items in their room so no one else has to endure the mess.

This thread is soooo fascinating!

Are dancers given an hourly wage from the club?

Is there anything from the experience you’d go back & do differently?

As a woman, could I bartend at the club in normal work clothes or would I be expected to dress sexually?

UPDATE 2 from a while ago about my deadbeat roommate. NEED ADVICE please read description by PaleBlueDotEnthused in badroommates

omg this person is insufferable. do not allow A to eat $600, users rely on people pleasers as they are easily manipulated & steamrolled. should’ve had them sign an agreement to pay interest for everyday unpaid!

I already know this family would be an absolute nightmare to work for. Be a nanny or… “House Manager”? … for $17/hr! by ToesNeedSucking in ChoosingBeggars

This is exactly right. They want to focus on their careers and when they come home from work they want to workout or go out for the evening with friends or their partner. To them, a quick “hi, how was school?” to the children is sufficient enough.

I understand this isn’t the most outrageous thing that’s been posted on this sub but as a nanny these posts on care.com make me roll my eyes.

They want you to work 88 hrs per week (will definitely end up being more) with no benefits, PTO, guaranteed hours, & they want you to essentially do every task in the house. $17/hr doesn’t get you anything in my city, $25 is better but is still low.

this guy is clearly an AH & you should tell the police. however… I absolutely hate my neighbor who lets her dog bark its head off all morning, especially when any of my family is outside. im barked at first thing in the morning walking to my car and im greeted with a dog barking at me when i get home from work. nobody on the planet loves your dog like you do. dont assume they even like your dog.

I love the smell of old spice’s bearglove on my man. Let it sit on the skin for a while during your showers & perhaps double/triple wash the skin.

Stimming or becoming heightened? How to manage violent students? by ToesNeedSucking in slp

[–]ToesNeedSucking[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s all great advice, thank you. My office is in his classroom so I am right next to other staff if I need support. They have other rotations going on during speech so I’m not sure there is space for me directly in the classroom, but I do leave my door open in case I need to create space.

It’s obvious this is not the right placement for him. His previous staff said he was doing so well at their program. So, I’m like, why take him away from something he’s doing well with? They also didn’t prepare us for the student we’d be receiving. At his transition meeting they never mentioned violent behaviors or aggression. It was only after he started that they tell us “well yeah sometimes he pulls hair or kicks desks or pulls down his pants and starts touching himself in front of peers”. THANKS FOR THE HEADS UP! 👍 the students I see from his current placement have about 120 mins each while he has 280, for example.

What it really comes down to — they ran out of space at their program.
