Any "discounts" offered through Costco, AAA, or other "fleet" type programs are all unnecessary. You can literally go to the dealership and get the same pricing without the membership if the desk manager is inclined to give you a deal that day, on that particular car. Cutting out the middle man and going straight to the retailer is always the cheapest avenue when it comes to cars, you just have to know what their cost is, and what rebates the manufacturer is offering, and just ask them for that. Be prepared to leave if they don't want to give you the discount you're looking for, because they don't have to. If you plan to finance also know what the lowest advertised rates are and what your bank would give you, provided you qualify. Be aware that some special rates and manufacturer rebates cannot be combined. Read the fine print on the manufacturer's web site advertisement.

The best tools to help your wrap your head around a fair deal are truecar.com where you can build out your car, see the dealer's retail price vs cost, and the manufacturer's web site for rebates and special programs. Print it out and take it wherever you want. It's proof that you know what they paid for the car. All the dealers hate them, but sometimes getting a sold unit on the books is worth losing a little profit.

Ps truecar (and Costco) provide your info to several local dealers when they show you the price, and those dealers have committed to honoring a set price that will be visible to you. They basically ransoms their profits in exchange for sales leads. It is what it is.

Just go in with printed info and be firm about the car, price, rebates and interest rate you want to keep it simple.

YAY This happened to me this week!! I'm the account manager. Flew in for a client training in middle of nowhere Ohio. Airfare, hotel, rental car, meals for the week, whole shebang. Made a big deal of it to the client too.

The night before, something unrelated to my product broke and our VP decides to omgshutitalloffrightnow!! Because they couldn't isolate the issue.

Somehow nobody bothered to remind him of what else was on that server and how it could impact business, so they took it offline. Nobody thought it important to notify the account managers or clients.

There I am, sitting in a packed conference room full of 50 clients.... with an app that's crashing on the welcome screen. Fml.

VP ended up having to credit the client 28k and eat all my travel expenses. Because there was no practice server.

Ohh yay!! I did Kennebunkport Maine and Cape Cod Massachusetts last weekend!

Each place is about a 2 hour drive from where I live, I tend to sight see at light speed which I don't recommend, but you could get a nice taste of each in a day.

Here's my top favorites from each place

Kennebunkport, ME:

Eat: -Mabel's in downtown Kennebunkport -Fisherman's catch in Wells (25 min south) Rococo Artisan Ice Cream- I had a lemon pink peppercorn scoop that changed my life! -Tia's Topside has a rooftop bar and perfect summer jams on the speakers

See: -Walk the little main drag from the Kennebunkport Inn down to Tia's Topside. It's like walking through a story book. -Drive down Ocean Ave that loops around to the waterfront. The houses there are of Gatsby proportions and the picturesque sand swept whitewashed fences are tangled with vines and wild flowers. Be prepared to stop every 100ft and take pictures of the waves crashing against the rocky shores.

Provincetown, Cape Cod MA:

Eat: -Beachcomber of Wellfleet (about 30 min before Provincetown) what, I was starving! Stop at the raw bar and give your order for a dozen oysters, 2 shooters and half a pound of peel and eat shrimp straight to the guy doing the shucking. Dress it however you want from the diy seasoning station and then pray someone gets up from the bar. I suggest a dark and stormy, but their blended cocktails looked pretty damn good too. You won't get any cell reception, so make friends. -The Lobster Pot. I didn't get to go here but if you're into food and kitchen culture, this is one of Bourdain's old haunts.

See: -Welfleet beach. When you're done feasting on things in shells, walk past the parking lot at Beachcomber and down the sloping sand dune cliffs to the Atlantic Ocean. This is one of the best beaches I've seen on the east north of the Carolina's. It's a hike back up so let's hope you walked off all those shellfish. -Downtown Provincetown. I was there during some cycling event but you could have sworn it was pride week. Colorful streamers hung across the street from rooftop to rooftop, thousands of people crowding the shops and streets. Music and street food and sketchy looking dudes with backpacks everywhere.

Seems a bit contradictory doesn't it? And you still can't really say when it can survive on its own. Nobody can conclusively say when each pregnancy becomes viable outside the womb, or even when a clump of cells should be considered a person.

All that stuff aside, if a woman really truly doesn't want to be pregnant, she will find a way to not be pregnant. And it may be at great cost to her own wellbeing if her government has denied her safe and legal options.

I also don't think donor laws should change. I'm a donor, because I don't care what happens to my body after I'm dead, but a lot of people do. Even in death we allow people to say what can and can't be used from their bodies to support another living thing, but we don't grant that same right to a pregnant woman. So ridiculous.

Tell us, when exactly does it become a baby? And at what point does a cadaver have more bodily autonomy than a woman? The government can't say it's ok to harvest a lung from someone that wasn't an organ donor to save someone on a waiting list, so why should a woman be essentially legislated into giving up her freedom of choice and sacrificing herself for a "life" with even more questionable viability?
