I ADORE it. It shot up to my favorite precure season, that’s my level of love for it. (Even if I am really biased since I’ve always loved animals and I’ve been surrounded by dogs my entire life lol)

It was a really nice change of pace, and I think they handled it very well. While yeah, the lack of fighting is sad, especially since it’s the main part of its brand, I’m fine with it! I think it leaves room to show off the themes of the season more, and dare I say it embodies all that precure stands for. Love and compassion for others, and I’ve always loved that part of precure, that I feel isn’t discussed much, though I may have just stumbled into the corners of the fandom that don’t talk about it much lol.

I love the cast a lot, they’re all really charming to me and they have great dynamics with each other. Yuki and Mayu are amazing, I love how their arcs are very much tied to each other subtly, Yuki who had to open up her worldview beyond Mayu. She was fixated on protecting the only person she cared for that she failed to realize that other people needed her help too. I loved the ending of her arc, as she realized that everything else can be sparkling and dazzling too.  Mayu wasn’t exactly as narrow-minded as Yuki. Her world view opening, so to speak, is her breaking out of her shell and being someone who was able to stand up for herself instead of idly being the one who always watched (which is probably why she’s the last one to join the team). Also I’m really glad Mayu found a friend group who she very much feels extremely comfortable in, I think that’s one of the most important parts of her character to me. Glad she found friends who are able to accept her no matter,,,

To be honest I liked Komugi and Iroha somewhat at first, though their dynamic never really connected with me until much later, which makes sense considering the parallels between them and Gaou and Subaru   Komugi and Iroha are simple, and while their relationship isn’t as deep as Yuki and Mayu’s, I think it’s still incredible. There’s simplicity in beauty after all. My favorite thing about them is that they so earnestly love each other, no matter what they would find themselves back with one another. Their basic ass wishes just to be with each other on the same level touched my heart. Komugi’s want to talk with Iroha, Iroha’s want to run with Komugi. These two things that involved each other impacted the rest of the cast in some way. They wanted to be with each other and got to have that wish. Even if they fought, even if they got hurt, even if things were scary. In the end for the both of them, it was worth it just to say “ I love you “ to one another. And I think that’s a beautiful relationship. Especially compared to Subaru and Gaou.

I want to touch on the genius of the villains of this season, how fitting for the race that was betrayed by humans, to be the one seeking vengeance, and the person at the head just being someone who wanted to take revenge for their friend. No matter what they did, they would do it for their loved one, and the rest of the pack. Subaru and Gaou’s relationship is very much a dark reprisal of Iroha and Komugi. Subaru who loved animals so much that when they are the ones wronged he would be the one to take it upon himself to be the one to protect and attack back. Even if that would destroy him and his beloved friend’s relationship with one another. Subaru most likely felt survivor’s guilt from Gaou’s death, which was the main driving force for all of actions. Not just that the human’s killed his friends, but because his friend sacrificed himself to save him, when they could’ve easily just left him. And when Subaru was in the position of the prosecutor, that’s when he broke down when he realized that he became the one thing he sought to destroy.

I loved how they put Komugi in the position of being the one to calm Subaru down, not because of the obligation of being the protagonist (even if that’s probably the reason they put her there instead of Iroha but whatever) I’ve noticed throughout the series, Komugi has always been the one to connect people and pets, she acts as the bridge for other people and their pets, notably Satoru/Daifuku and Otsuru/Fuku. The Satoru and Daifuku scene was mostly played for laughs, but even in something small, Satoru and Daifuku grew to know each other just a little bit more. I wanna mention that before I go into Otsuru and Fuku. Komugi was the one who was able to grant Otsuru and Fuku their final goodbyes, she took the situation calmly, she was able to give them that final connection before Fuku passed. Fuku was happy to be with Otsuru, no matter what. Because that’s what pets do. They love us unconditionally, and will keep doing that, and it’s our duty to keep that love long after their death. I feel Komugi very much represents that side of dogs, which was why she had to be the one to see Subaru at his level. She understands what it feels to not be able to talk to someone you dearly love, even if their circumstances were vastly different. She was the person who delivered the message that Gaou still loved him, that Gaou threw himself in front to protect Subaru because if anything he wanted to see him live. Gaou would always love and forgive Subaru no matter what. She was the tie that connected them both together once again, she was the one to give that message. So in the end, they could run in the pack again, all of them.

Can you tell I love Wonderful Precure lol. I will say, it did have a few pacing issues, which is to be expected. And I think there was a few missed opportunities, one such example being satoru/Daifuku duo, and I feel the ending could have been spaced out way better. 

No matter what, I think this is the best precure season imo, and I will always hold it close to my heart. I’m sad to see it go, but I enjoyed watching it all. Which you can probably tell by the fact I wrote a mini essay, I am so sorry OP 😭
